I really don't understand how that was a film review. You don't smoke weed and apparently don't get jokes because of this. That's all you really said. I've never been in space, and somehow Alien wasn't lost on me.

Was this a review? Are you sure you don't smoke weed?

This film looks horrible. Not one laugh.

My only problem with this review is that it doesn't take entertainment into consideration. I don't smoke weed and I never will, even though I agree with all the stoners. At the start of the movie I was really hating it with the non-stop stoner references and jokes that just were not funny. Then after the first 15 minutes that dissipated into the movie itself. I went into the theaters knowing it was going to try and make me have fun. This is not the next award winning movie, but it is extremely fun and entertaining compared to many recent comedy movies. This is coming from a guy who hates seeing comedy's in the theaters and loathes Judd Apatows recently horrible productions. I myself am not a fan of stoner movies either but what I did find was a movie that had a cast of many different characters that all intertwined with each other, kind of like 'Big Trouble'. I don't think this should be a movie that should be shoved into the crappy Apatow produced films bin. My thoughts on Pineapple Express was that this will be a classic movie that I can pull out during a movie marathon with friends. I am looking forward to the DVD release and I plan on seeing this with different groups of friends in the next few weeks.

The story of Pineapple Express is one that I enjoyed and I will certainly recommend it to anyone who has nothing to do on a weekday.

"Sure, some of the films like Dude, Where’s My Car are funny. But for every one of those, there seems to be a dozen Dazed and Confused."

....And that's where I stop reading.

I stopped reading after you zinged Dazed and Confused..

You liked "Dude where's my Car", but you didn't like "Dazed and Confused"......?

Anyway, "Pineapple Express" was at best just a mediocre film. Seth Rogen and Judd Apatow are talented, but they just repeting themselves with this movie. Also the tone of the film is very off-balanced, which makes watching alot of the scenes in this movie very awkward. Likewise Franco and McBride are both funny in this film, however thier characters Saul and Red just become annoying by the end of the movie. On another note, the first and last scenes of this film are completely pointless and not at all amusing. Funniest part of movie: Saul quoting 227 in his apartment.

    High,
    higher:
    higher level of entertainement :)
But more seriousely, watching this without having got stoned first is like watching a 3D movie without the special glasses.
I've seen that movie 5 times already. It is just a perfection. So many subliminal messages (as hidden messages) in every minutes of this great film!! I like the end, it's where everything get sorted ; but you tell me :
What did happend to his gf? where are they going ? we dont know.
As well, after the farm blows up (yes we was stoned when we walked out, but you're not suppose to know as the audiance :p) with a great song called "I didn't mean to hurt you" by Spiritualized. Awesome !
You know he's talking like a radio guy at the end, when he's in the restaurant. You hear him,but you see pictures of sights and landscapings and it just matches with what he says, as if he was at the radio ; but before in the movie, before they leave eachother, he's saying to Franco that he is "gonna be a great radio guy (...)", and then they leave and that great song by bob marley kicks in :)

Mann if you wanted to understand that whole movie, watch it stone as, have a sesh while its playing, and of course dont pass out. watch that movie 3-4 times at least, that how you can just enjoyyy it.
for ex; did you think soul and his gf were gonna come back together? when he calls her for the second time, crying his tears out? its ment to make you believe they will.
It is a stoner movie. made by stoners too (or the greatest imagination in the producer's head :P)

What is good with that movie aswell is that the people who make it just don't give a shit about what people think about it.
Why would you stick to a review? A movie is different for everyone, considering our backgrounds, friends, experiences, etc, etc...

Before saying "oh that movie looks bad" or "shitty review i wont see it" don't stick to 1 review. If you are, like me, over reviews and so, and you go to the cinemas to have entertainement, this movie is definitely for you !
