Film School Rejects: Year in Review: The Indie Gems of ‘07!

"Waitress is the rarest find of them all simply because it’s a romantic comedy."

Considering there's at least one romantic comedy released every week, how exactly are they rare?

And if by "beautifully written," you mean the characters are one-dimensional and poorly realized and the story is trite and clichéd, then yeah, Waitress is beautifully written.

Waitress is a rare find because it's actually very good and most of the romantic comedies released almost every week suck.

Great list Nate. I'm particularly thrilled to see "The Namesake" on your list. That film has been grossly under seen, even on DVD. I hope it finds some more love as it starts to pop up on various lists here and there, it's well worth a view.

Good choices, but whoa, what about Fido or Talk to Me or Sunshine?! All fantastic indie gems that went missed this year. Good list, but I wish everyone could see ALL the indie gems instead of just a few...
