Great post! The Front Page has been remade many times (as traditionally written with two male leads), and they even took a stab at a direct remake of His Girl Friday in 1988 with Switching Channels (with Kathleen Turner and Burt Reynolds), but none have ever matched the electric chemistry Hawkes was able to foster between Grant and Russell.

Fantastic post, and I couldn't agree more. I've only ever seen very bad DVD's of this, so I'd
love to see it restored or remastered in some way. A truely exceptional film that's too often
forgotten.
