Film School Rejects: Wolverine Wades Further into Deadpool

  • Ryan · 10 months ago
hehe. Sorry the whole Wade and wade thing kept me distracted from the rest of the article.

He better get disfigured in the movie. I think Ryan Reynolds is a good choice, but Deadpool ain't no pretty boy.

I think we wont be let down, since Reynolds isnt afraid to hide behind prosthetics. He put on a fat suit for Just Friends. "And I swear, by the moon and the stars and the sky!..."

Tom Rothman of Fox indicates that there was a lot of CGI involved around Deadpool, which I think means that Wade Wilson will get scarred during the film. Whether the CGI is just used to show the scarring happen or whether it will be used like a skin texture applied over Reynolds face for the rest of his appearances is unknown.

Ugh. I would really rather see Ryan Reynolds in make-up or some sort of prosthetic, than I would in CGI as a disfigured Wade Wilson. I've always been a huge Deadpool fan and as soon as I heard Ryan was going to play the role I immediately jumped for joy. For me, as long as they get the scarring right, I think the character will be gold.

It may seem like blasphemy, but the scarring isn'ta huge deal to me, at least not yet. There have been times when Deadpool was "cured" of his horrible scarring and he also utilized holographic projections. If it looks good, great. If it looks bad, I'd rather it not be there (for now). Deadpool is one of the few characters that almost always keeps his mask on. The X-Men, Spider-Man, Batman, etc, those guys all have normal alter-egos or appearances (ok, so a few X-Men don't) but Deadpool is the guy in the mask, period.

Deadpool needs to have the mask on, but I believe he will. They'll probably do the scarring thing too.

See, I believe they really are planning on doing the Deadpool spinoff. Why else expand Deadpool's role in an already convoluted film? Why else cast someone like Reynolds for the role if the character was destined for a quick cameo and nothing else? I'm even more excited about this now then I was before. Ryan Reynolds is the PERFECT choice for Wade.

Did anyone else notice in the latest Wolverine trailer that there is a brief scene with Wolverine fighting with someone looking like a ninja in a red and black suit? I think JoBlo posted the stills from this shot, and it looks like Deadpool, mask and all. I'm really hoping Deadpool and Wolverine throw down for a bit, both having to use their healing factors big time!

Any of you Deadpool fans seen Hulk Vs Wolverine? I thought Deadpool was well done in that. Very funny.

watched wolverine trailer again on apple. towards the end there's maybe a point 5 second clip of jackman fighting a topless, skinhead ninja with swords (who looks pretty scarred up if you pause it right).
i'm thinking this is deadpool after the byzantine procedure but before the badass costume. i'm also thinking reynolds will play the part like his his annoying, cocky character in blade trinity.

Yes, I think it's Deadpool too. I'm pretty sure you're right about how Reynolds will play it. That is who Deadpool is. He can be a cocky, wise ass, and yes even annoying. Anyone who has read a Deadpool comic could tell you that.

That's why Reynolds was the perfect choice for the role.

    SPOLIER:

Sorry guys, unless he was cloned, there won't be a deadpool spinoff, unless he can grow his head back.
  • Jon Stephens · 7 months ago
Wilson does have a healing factor similar to Wolverine's. If they took as many liberties with Deadpool as they evidently have, then it would stand to reason that they would be willing to have the regenerative property regrow his head. I'm not saying it's gonna happen, and unless FOX seriously changes Deadpool from the current version between now and the film's release (or change the characters climax in the story), I hope it doesn't happen. That is NOT deadpool. I want to see the real Deadpool. Hopefully someday Marvel will get the rights back and do him proper.

Deadpool can regrow his head back, but in this movie ha can only reteach it like sabertooth and wolverine, but he can do it on his own at least so they didn't nerf him too much. In a post-credits scene, Deadpool's hand is seen reaching for his severed head, at which point, he opens his eyes and breaks the fourth wall as he whispers to the audience, "Shhh..."
