Boiling Point: Twilight
Robert De Niro - Satan (from 'Cape Fear')
"You get behind me, we all profit; you challenge me, we all go down! There was one Napoleon, one Washington, one me! "
Pacino - (tie) Heat or Dog Day Afternoon
Pacino in Godfather I and II
De Niro: Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, Casino
Pacino: Dog Day Afternoon, Godfather Part II, Heat
Pacino - Lieutenant Colonel Frank Slade in Scent of a Woman
Classic Al - Michael Corleone (Godfaterh 1&2)
Modern Over-the-top Al - Vincent Hannah (Heat) - one of the few films where it works
Robert DeNiro - It's hard to argue with his take as Jake LaMotta in Raging Bull, probably his best performance. But my personal favorite has to be Jimmy "The Gent" Conway from Goodfellas.
De Niro = Taxi Driver. Period.
For Bobby I'll say Jimmy Conway - Goodfellas - Because the flailing leg kick/stomp on that guys face is awesome.
DeNiro would have to be Jimmy Conway in Goodfellas...
Pacino - Serpico
Robert Deniro: I have to go with Jack Walsh from "Midnight Run". This was my first exposure to Deniro in an intentionally funny role and he pulss it off without the over the top antics he seems to fallen back on in the "Meet The ..." & "Analyze ..." series. Plus he still plays the bad ass.
Deniro - Louis Gara (Jackie Brown)
Al Pacino: Hands down it has to be Tony Montana in Scarface "Say hello to my little friend".
Robert Deniro: It has to be him as Jimmy Conway in Goodfellas.
For DeNiro - Sam Rothstein in Casino
I guess they both make good gangsters.
Pacino when he played Carlito ‘Charlie’ Brigante (Carlito’s Way)
Deniro when he played Louis Gara (Jackie Brown)
Favorite DeNiro role = While I loved him in Taxi Driver, I also loved him as Rupert Pupkin in The King of Comedy!! The irony of DeNiro in the comedy role alone makes me giggle.
hard to pick, both have had so many good roles, but the seamless way De Niro delivered
CONWAY is truly something to worship. Just watch the way he smokes a cigarette, while
looking at a guy he knows is going to be killed within 24 hours. The steel heart, the
hardened moral fabic, I mean...even the way he sips a drink...De Niro channeled CONWAY. I
do have to give up some major props to Pacino, however, for HEAT, however. The quiet
moments of that character make the character.
Al Pacino in Scarface as Tony Montana (a Classic also Oscar material) and of course DeNiro in Raging Bull as Jake La Motta (a total Classic, Oscar worthy all the way).
Love DeNiro as Rupert Pupkin--one of the great underrated films of all time!
Robert De Niro - Max Cady. Can play good and VERY evil very well.
Pacino-Scarface
They have both made tons of excellent films.
Pacino - Serpico
Robert De Niro....Ronin (1998) .... Sam
Robert DeNiro - Serpico
I love this pair of actors.
Al Pacino was cool in Dog Day Afternoon.
But The Deer Hunter is equal in it oppositeness.
Pacino- Godfather 2
De Niro- Taxi Driver
Both flicks were responsible for causing incredible film expectations for me from an early age. I had a cool Mom that took me to see the stuff!
Al Pacino was brilliant as Frank Serpico in "Serpico", Michael Corleone in the Godfather films, but his most underrated role was the character of Bobby in "Panic in Needle Park."
These two legends have changed the face of film as we know it.
Al Pacino would be, and this may not be popular, but I loved him in The Devil's Advocate
Oh, this is really hard because they both give superb performances in so many movies!!
grrr
It took a lot of thinking over, since there are some truly great movies both actors have done and are great due to their great acting in such memorable characters.
I would have to say for Al Pacino it came down to his Tony Montana from the 1983 Scarface and Michael Corleone from the 1972 film The Godfather Part 1. Now there are many other very good characters he has done, but those two are his best.
Now, for Robert De Niro, I would have to narrow it down to Jake La Motta in the 1980 Raging Bull, one of the best boxing movies, and James 'Jimmy' Conway in the 1990 Goodfellas. Now it may be due to Martin Scorsese's direction, but he was his best in those films.
Now for the very best movie, in my opinion, that each has done would be.....
for Al Pacino, Tony Montana in Scarface.
And for Robert De Niro, James 'Jimmy' Conway in Goodfellas.
Al Pacino in Scarface and maybe a lesser known but good movie Glengarry Glenn Ross
Robert Deniro in Taxi Driver and Mean Streets

De Niro could either be from Wag the Dog because he was hilarious but very serious and chilling as well, or A Bronx Tale. When De Niro confronts Sonny, I just can't help but smile at such a great fatherly moment.
My favorite DeNiro role is Sam in the movie Ronin.
By the way, if you have never seen Ronin, rent it today. It is excellent.
Pacino - Any Given Sunday or Heat!
Pacino = Michael Corleone from Godfather 1 & 2
Al in the Godfather's - well done growth of character.
CASINO for Bobby
&
DOG DAY AFTERNOON for Al
great brain-teaser guys!
Michael Corleone
The Godfather 2
Al Pacino as Michael Corleone
De Niro - Fearless Leader in Rocky and Bullwinkle ;) All seriousness it's gotta be Travis Bickle
couldve did what he did in those films. It created who Al Pacino is today! Robert De Niro
would have to be Raging Bull I watched that the other day and realized the De Niro is an
amazing actor and I most definately cant wait to see this duo together in righteous Kill
frankenstein for Robert Deniro
Pacino: Dog Day Afternoon and Godfather
Robert De Niro~~ Max Cady.. Cape Fear
Al Pacino - Michael Corleone in Godfather II
de niro - taxi driver
DeNiro in Taxi Driver.
Pacino in Sea of Love
pacino in sea of love
