Film School Rejects: William Hurt’s Name is Earl in Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood

Even Hurt can't save the movie, Crowe is going to ruin this rendition.

William Marshal was actually created Earl of Pembroke by King John in 1199. Up until then Pembroke Castle was still in royal hands. Richard made William lord of Striguil (modern day Chepstow), Leinster in Southern Ireland and also gave him vast tracks in Normandy by right of marriage to Isabelle de Clare, but Earl of Pembroke in Richard's reign he certainly wasn't.
I am the author of two best selling novels about the great William Marshal - The Greatest Knight and The Scarlet Lion. and reckon a film should be made about his fabulous (and true) life instead! He makes Robin Hood's life look like a day at the teddy bear's picnic, and it's all true!

Yeah, like Crowe has ruined so many other movies.

    Not.
