Really, the better ending? I disagree entirely with that.

What about a story that involves the same time period as I am Legend, but from another view. It could even be about the two whom meet up with Will Smith's character. It offers WB to carry over the title to bring in the masses, but at the same time allow them to do whatever they felt like doing.

Why? The movie was obviously made to AVOID sequels. And a prequel? Yuk.

Whatever the case, I just hope they don't come back with those terrible CGI creatures.

There's no way it was overrated Dan. I mean the reviews were pretty average and the film was about average. Now you can say that I Am Legend was shit if that's your opinion.

I would like to see either options incorporate more of the original book - if you haven't read it, I highly recommend. Richard Matheson: proliferator of the post-apocalyptic zombie/vampire genre and influence of any contemporary horror/sci-fi novelist.

A prequel could be good - Neville building up his fortress and driving around town on search and destroy missions. The book did a really good job of characterizing Robert Neville's struggle to adapt to being alone. The movie did an OK job, but could have done more.

Sequel could be good as Neville realizes there are 2 species of monsters (living and undead) and work to save the living while obliterating the undead. That could be cool. Another take from the original novel.

Good strong opinion there haha may I ask what you disliked so strongly? I wasn't a huge fan but thought it was pretty enjoyable if forgettable.

the sequel should follow the "alternate ending" from the dvd, where Dr. Neville lives and leaves NYC with the woman, her boy, and the cure.

Sequel idea with showing the (faaaar better) alternative ending before the movie.... ;)

Maybe the original ending was just a dream/imagination/hallucination/etc. of Robert Neville after all...

Prequel would suck since it would be clear from the beginning that whatever they try to stop the virus would fail anyways...
