Film School Rejects: Watch This: Jackie Chan Gets Serious in ‘Shinjuki Incident’

No one can expect Chan to keep doing physically demanding starring roles for the rest of his life. Not a lot of people outside of Asia are familiar with Chan's work that doesn't involve martial arts. I'll be looking forward to this. Oh, and the movie (and district its named after) is "Shinjuku Incident", not Shinjuki.

This looks pretty good, though it looks as if Chan finds himself in a spot of trouble. I like a lot of his movies, including his more serious ones. True, a lot of his American hits are goofy, but he's done a lot of great stuff. Drunken Master has humor, but it is way more serious than say Shanghai Noon. JSA was good, Supercop was fun, this looks nice and dark.

No wonder why you guys are school rejects, the movie is called SHINJUKU INCIDENT not SHINJUKI ;).

Jokes apart, I also think this movie will be a great vehicle for Jackie to separate himself from the goofy-comedies-with-a-few-kicks that he does in America, and enter into a whole new world of movies and characters. I hope that international distributors believe in the film and release it in its entirety.
