Amani · 9 months agoThis was also Lionsgate's top opening week for ANY of their movies. Totally the younger African American audience with a core of female followers. I wouldn't underestimate Madea anytime in the future. Or Tyler Perry. And I didn't even think about going to the movie and I fit (sort of) the demographic.

Keisha · 9 months agoHey, it just goes to show that there's more of an audience for funny, feel-good movies with Christian values than for serious, depressing movies about politics, or movies that are difficult to follow. I went to see "Slumdog" with my nana a week ago and she hated it - the shaky camera gave her vertigo, she couldn't see the subtitles and she found it difficult to follow, even with me narrating it in an empty theatre...
