Film School Rejects: Tucker Max Going to Hell, But First to Theaters

    Hmmmm. Let's see:

    1. From day 1, I have said someone else will play me.
    2. We have turned down studio financing so many times I have lost count
    3. Louisiana is THE place to shoot Hollywood movies right now because of the rebate and the crew depth. The list of movies that just shot there is a whos who of directors and actors.

    The lesson to be learned here:

    Most people talk out of their ass. Don't be one of those people. Either know your shit or shut the fuck up.

    The script was leaked a few weeks back and it's a turd. Tucker claimed it was substantially rewritten since then (that script was about 9 months old), but he also claimed it was pure comic gold before the rewrite.

    Synopsis: recent Law school graduate Tucker is mediating his parent's divorce and frustrated by it. He takes friends Aaron (caught his ex girlfriend cheating on him and now hates all women) and Jeff, who's about to be married and pussy whipped on a road trip to Texas to visit a legendary strip club that's closing down.

    On their first night, some bachelorettes assume they're gay and invite them to see some male strippers. Tucker is thrown out of the club for punching one of the male strippers.

    On their second night, they go back to the strip club and Tucker threatens to have them arrested for prostitution unless their drinks are comped. Aaron goes home with a stripper and stops hating women.

    Tucker brings a stripper back to the hotel. Before they can have sex, she takes a massive shit, clogging the toilet. Tucker, who has spent most of the movie constipated, is forced to use the lobby toilet and leaves a trail of diarrhea all over the floor, bathroom, etc.

    That's about it, but with more flashbacks, scrubs-style alternate editing, and terrible dialogue.

    I read the leaked script too - it was GARBAGE. An 18 yr old could've done a better job with it. The Slingblade character was an annoying clown who wouldn't shut up, Tucker was a one-dimensional jackass and the third lead was so lame that he could've been left out entirely.

    If Tucker isn't lying about "turning down" studio financing then he's a damn fool. Does the guy even know about the real financing of "indie" movies? His alleged $6m budget is far too high for a project with a no-name director and no-name actors. He could film this thing for 1/3 that amount and still earn a decent proft selling it to a studio for distribution (assuming somebody would indeed purchase it). He's dreaming if he thinks that he'll spend $6m and get this junk into theatres himself.

    That leaked script is old news. Anyone with any insider connections can have the new one at a moment's notice. Just so you know, the entire parents divorce has been cut, the strip club is in Charlotte, not Austin. The film ends with the wedding scene. I've read both and the second is SIGNIFICANTLY better. I didn't like the first one, but they managed to keep what worked and cut what didn't. I thought the whole parents' divorce being a nationally known event was terribly structured anyway.
