Film School Rejects: Tom Cruise in Talks for Mission: Impossible 4

As long as it moves in the direction of #3 and not #2 then yeah, please do another.

I still believe the first was the best, although a bit confusing at times, but still
    the best of the trilogy.
I wouldn't mind seeing a fourth one though.

All three of them have been awful. I hope they make a 4th, it bombs, and people stop giving a crap about Tom Cruise.

Personal life aside ... Cruise is a good, intense actor and I would like to see him in MI4.

@ Wild Bluff - I agree with the theme of 3 and had no idea what they were doing with 2

I'll be honest - I love Mission Impossible 3. Best of the series, I thought. Love it love it love it. And I will defend Tom Cruise until the day he personally hypnotizes me and plants a demon seed in my belly. He went a little nuts for awhile, but he's still great on screen. I like him. Put me down for a ticket.

I'm with Robert on this one... the MI series has actually gotten progressively better with each installment and regardless of Cruise's wonky life offscreen, he's been pretty damn solid onscreen. He's an easy whipping boy because of his nutty religion, but all religions are nutty... he just talks too much about his. As long as Cruise keeps making entertaining movies though I'm perfectly okay with Fure being his seed receptacle.

After what he did with Scientology, I've lost respect for him as an actor. Hell. I stopped watching all of his movies.

I loved them all. Put me down for a couple tickets!

What did you guys think about MI: 2? I thought it kinda sucked. The best was obviously the first so it goes 1, 3, 2 for me.

I agree with everything, except the "just okay" part. I thought M:13 was the best in the series, because it was the closest to the ideals of the TV series, which is about teamwork--it wasn't all about Ethan, anymore. Now, with that said, the series ended on a good note. Cruise and Paramount should move on.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE III was the best. The first one was beautiful and was rich with style, but the story was a mess. The second was just a mess. The third actually managed to tell a cohesive story.

Not to much old for action heroe????

Let it go, Tom... find your way back to your alien home and stop torturing this sorry franchise.

I really hope Tom Cruise returns as in my own opinion his best character. I love the 'Ethan Hunt' character. I was just wondering the other day if there would be a MI4. And you people who don't want one I don't know why. If it gets made and your mad: don't see the movie it's that simple for all you kids living in your parents basements. This movie will revive his career as an action hero.

I actually thought Cruise was great in MI3, he totally threw himself into it physically which is what made the action exciting. But I thought the movie as a whole and the work of JJ Abrams was average. With a strong script and the right director a fourth movie could be interesting.

i have to go with what Brandon has said on this one. The last movie did end on a good
note, but Mr. Cruz has to move on with other matters. It would be to much done on the
trilogy of these movies, but all and all if it does come down to making a forth movie i
wouldnt mind seeing it. Only if the characters are the same actors as the last movies.
