I'm a big fan of the comic, while initially I thought Cruise may be a strange choice he's probably at the right age for the role, and the main character is a cocky weary badass, (He did a similar role in Minority Report). However I know I'm in the minority as I don't let his politics or religion affect my view of him as an actor.

I think it's going to be very different from the comic as it reads more like a hard boiled sam spade gritty undercover story and I can't see them translating that to the big screen, But I'll definitely watch as its a great story. Lots of great characters and it really pokes fun at the superhero genre.

Sleeper is an "iffy" project at best. I agree with the above post that if Cruise held back his meglomanica he could do the film but only "IF" they follow the comic like they are in Watchmen.
