    I live in Michigan, and I can tell you...it's a great thing for the whole state and filmmakers alike. There is a huge community of really hard working people...there's really something to be said about the Northeastern work ethic.

    Jeff Daniels has been singing Michigan's praises for decades. Other states would probably do the same to give a movie that "authentic feel". I hate it when they do a partial shot of Cleveland and then blend in the mayonnaise feel of Canada.

    Yeah, I thought 'Gran Torino' had a more authentic feel to it by being shot here.

    There's a decent cross section of locations here...as long as you don't want mountains...it's as flat as a dried up lake bed...well, because it is.
