Are you insane? $51 mil for The Mummy in its opening weekend? There's no way...

Nevermind, people are nuts... I guess 51 mil is possible

I just saw Mummy 3 at a midnight screening.I thought it was enjoyable enough but not as good as the first two Mummys.I don't think Maria Bello replacing Rachel Weisz is a "nuke the Fridge" moment for the franchise.I think she did quite well in the role.I'm not sure if it can do 51 million, but I do think it will beat The Dark Knight.I would love to see TDK beat the record set by Titanic, but it just isn't going to happen.Like you said, Titanic had almost no competition for about four months. And while I don't think TDK has a lot of competition coming up aside from Tropic Thunder-I don't believe Pineapple Express is going to be much of a threat-lightening just isn't ever going to strike again like it did back in '97/'98.

Well The Dark Knight is not just a movie, it's an event. The Mummy 3 can wait, if many others feel the same way the Dark Knight will prevail. A few people I've talked to who have seen Mummy 3 said it was ok but nothing special, that it was a watered down version of the first two Mummy movies. So it gets the DVD treatment in my book. I'm going to see the Dark Knight again, it's worth every penny.

Well, first I would like to say that I enjoyed Indiana Jones 4 much more than The Dark Knight which kind of fell apart at the end...not enough closure. But about The Mummy 3...I think it will easily top The Dark Knight considering that TDK has already had its run. Now it is time for other movies to shine...
Personally I enjoyed The Mummy films...I prefer the first one though...but anyway, I haven't seen the new Mummy film and I predict it will only be as good as the second Mummy.
