    Good review, you confirmed for me that I don't want to see this movie--I'm so sick of movies whose sole redeeming virtue is the acting. If you're gonna give me Brando, give me Kazan, know what I mean?

    You're exactly right. Example: Ryan Gosling in Half Nelson, or Ed Norton in Down in the Valley. Great performances, sloppy direction.
