Apparently you didn't get the movie. Wow. This movie was one of the best movies I have seen in a very long time. The Lady in the Water had me laughing, crying and caused me to get chilled more then twice. If you do not believe that this film is a masterpiece that should be respected and cherished forever then you should go find someone with feelings and a pulse and watch it with them, and absorb all that you can by their reactions. I will give you that the lighting was a little off, and the characters were simple, but that is How M. Night Shyamalan shares his stories. Through everyday people, doing regular, ordinary things. Maybe if you mature as a critic and grow as a human being, you will be able to appreciate this film later on in life. If you did not enjoy this film you have no soul.

Oh and by the way Phoenix did not play a "professional baseball player" he was in the minor leagues. So, know your movie before you hate on it.
