    Where's Kid N Play in House Party? Sigh. Ok, kidding. When I saw the title I thought Ice Cube in Boyz N The Hood and Tupac in Juice. Great choices. Boyz N The Hood was robbed when John Singleton didn't get an Oscar nomination.

    Yes! I've always thought about John Singleton and the Case of the Missing Oscar Nomination. Not that they've been flawless in choosing or not choosing nominees over the years, but that particular snub was pretty egregious.

    It's a shame how far Cube has fallen.

    I also wanted to say that I know P. Diddy has gotten some acclaim, but the only thing I ever saw him in was Made, and he wasn't very impressive.

    I also thought Mos Def was a wonderful addition to the cast of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. But I haven't seen the Italian Job, and it may be a better performance. You tell me.

    Hitchhiker's Guide is a fun movie and Def is solid in it, I just think Italian Job came earlier. Def was really good in Something the Lord Made, too.

    You're right. Ha, pretty much everyone was better than Halle Berry in that movie too--Thornton, Ledger, etc.--but she won the Oscar. I was always puzzled by that.

    Mos Def was great in Be Kind Rewind. Tupac was also great in Gridlock'd and Poetic Justice.

    I don't understand. In the related roles mentioned above, how much of a stretch is it for a gangster rapper to act gangster in a movie? Seriously. That's like asking the Pope to act "Pope-ish" or a politician to act like a politician.

    I agree with the other performances mentioned, but other than those this list is wack.

    I agree with the Snoop Dogg comment not being good, but the brief part he had in Training Day was actually really good. It was the only time I've seen him in a movie where you could tell he was acting rather than playing a variation of himself.

    And he was completely convincing in Bones. A riveting master class in acting.

    How can you NOT include Mos Def's performance in "Something the Lord Made?" It was fantastic.

    I agree it was terrific, but I wanted to include the Italian Job because it's really the first time we saw the rapper as an actor, if you know what I mean (even though his is a case where he was actually a little known actor first).
