Film School Rejects: Sundance Review: ‘Tyson’ is More PSA than Documentary

I obviously haven't seen the film, but--in my opinion--this is still a fantastic review, Neil.

There are not many figures in pop culture that we've flattened as much as Mike Tyson. At this point he seems inhuman. An ear-biting, face-tattooing shock artist who has zero depth becaue we don't need him to have depth. We just need him to punch people really hard.

Like Julian, I think this is a great review. I've met Tyson who, when he stands in a doorway, blocks out the sun. At first, I felt like I was about to shake hands with a ticking bomb, one that Jack Bauer missed, but there was a sense of shyness about Tyson, almost gentleness. Maybe that was a false sense, dunno.
But I wouldn't want to date him.
