    No the real question will be how far Speilburg deviates from actual historical facts. This raid was the start of the Privateers and Corsairs who would become Pirates true rise to prminance as a force on the high seas.

    Pirate movies were their own genre way before POTC...I expect with all the new pirate themed films in development we'll see a resurgence of the good movies coming back...I'm just hopeful they keep it somewhat realistic and remove all the awful lore and magic that Disney has been exploiting as story/plot...

    I think Speilberg is going to do a great job. As a result of a long relationship with Crichton, and when taking into consideration the writing style of Crichton. It should make for a great film. Assuming of coarse that the book is as good as expected.
