I was looking forward to this. Until now. Starship Troopers is an underappreciated gem of a movie. Smart and action filled. The book is awesome. Part 3 was supposed to have powered armor. This does not. Those effects look terrible. I am severely disappointed.

I even saw Starship Troopers II, which honestly wasn't that bad, and had nudity. Better CGI too.

Oh and Neil, how could you forget Casper Van Dien's illustrious sci-fi and straight to TV/DVD career? He has been in no less than 14 "films" since 1999!!

Robert -- To my knowledge, 3 does include powered armor. At least, that is what I saw in the design phases when I visited with part of the production...

I'm a big fan of the first movie. I loved the way it didn't take itself too seriously. The trailer looks to have that same feel. I'll check it out.

It's a cheap flick. Looks good as much of a budget as the first but these people did a great job considering the money they have. Any of you do as great a job as they do I will gladly watch as well. It's a movie not a marble sculpture.

Casper Van Dien, we pray for your career. I bless this production. Its nice to be among fans of Starship Troopers. I usually have to defend it with a poop shield. I found the book boring and put it down two thirds of the way.

When I watch back the first film, the CGI looks kinda funny. I hope they'll come up with a better offer this time as the audience expectation is higher

NO NO NO! Stop making movies like this when the best military SF book ever made is still
languishing without a movie. I'm talking about The Forever War of course, which should
totally be made into a movie. Bugger this crap, Starship Troopers was not even a good
book. (I've actually BURNED several Heinlein books I own. Anyone remember Friday?)

Somewhere Robert Heinlein is spinninf in his grave. Aside from a few of the same names, this movie (Just like the first) has nothing to do with his novel. All this shows is that out of work actors will do anything to get a job.

Starship troopers 1 was good the second one is boring... and a 3rd one... that looks like too Hollywood crap RAMBO Style lol... thats my point of view iam eager to judge this movie... they waited too long to make the 3rd one... anyway ^_^ lets see what this is gonna look like

This looks amazing! I cant wait to see it, the book, who cares about it, its a book, the first film is the best film I have ever seen. The second film was then sadly the worst film I have ever seen. It actually made me angry watching it, watching it and its stupid blinking laser guns, and zombies. This film looks to have machine guns again and im EXCITED

I loved the movie, I loved the book (despite the lack of action for a war book) even more! ST2 was horrible and didn't have to be and this... this looks like refried crap.
How sad...
For those of you looking for powered armor there's something that looks like a drop suite at 1:40.

Sam, the book was half social commentary and half war book, but I know what you mean.

I'm strangely excited about the movie. Once I saw the trailer for the first time I was angry, then sad, but now seeing it for maybe my 4th time...I like it. It may not be as good as the first, but no way in hell can it be worse than the 2nd movie.

There is powered armour. confirmed by the director and you can see it at 1:40. Loved the first film and this one looks far superior to the second. four new clips were shown at this years comic con, can anyone find them and link to them?

guys...I for one am looking forward to this film. I loved the first movie, hated the seccond and having high hopes for this one because it gives me info about what Rico did after the ending of the book. The book was good btw...not worth burning... and I recomend you guys another SciFi war book: "The siege of Arista" or "Arista's siege". I don't know it exactly because I only had it translated in romanian...an my beloved country men have the bad habit of translating the titles...

The first film had heart. Casper & a good cast. Even Charlie Sheen' wife was good.
The 2nd film was so horrible I barely watched hitting fast forward. Hopefully, 3rd movie
will last more than 2 weeks at the theaters. We need more space/alien style movies.

I hear it does have the theme song from Starship troopers 1. That theme was half the way to make 1 a superb movie.

If three continues like that, i'm looking forward to seeing this.

I love Starship Troopers. The idea of giant smart bugs and space marines doing battle is nothing short of classic epic sci-fi at its best.

The first movie was epic, grand, a little long maybe, but great none the less. Worthy of sequels.

However, the sequels the follow are not on the same level. Eventhough I enjoyed Starship Troopers 2 and plan to buy Part 3 when it hits DVD, I have to be honest, Starship Troopers deserves better. C'mon Hollywood! How do you go from hightech big budget studio style to small budget TV-movie style? It's just not fare for this fanchise. Wish things were different, but business is business.

Glad to see Casper Van Dien back to reprise his role. Although Part 3 does look entertaining. Too bad it's a straight-to-DVD TV movie and not a big budget, big screen, kickass flick that it should be. Lata!

First off, I would like to say that I am a big fan of Sci-fi. The first SST movie ROCKED!!! The second even without Rico, could have been really a great sequel, but they screwed the pooch on it instead. Now they come out with the 3rd that has power armor in it (which is such sci-fi it's not even funny) and try to make it look and be more like the first, but again to me screwed the pooch instead. The power armor looks like crap and the action just wasn't as good as the 1st movie. CGI didn't look as good as the first movies either, I really hate to say this, because I was really looking forward to this movie and they could have done such a better job with it. Like the second one, they could've made both of these great movies.

I am sorry but can some one explain to me how war, bugs and tit scenes corrolate to finding god deep in space????
That was the worst Bait and Switch i have ever fallen into. its like being invited into a room were there is supposed to be free beer and hookers and other wanderful sinful pleasure and then getting bum F-ked by a crucifix. but i almost feel a sort of pity for "god fearing people", they cant even enjoy their waffles unless they're cooked in "god" and smothered in some holy spirit. In summation, this movie is sci-fi sunday school for kids. big 0 out of 10
