Film School Rejects: Star Wars: The Clone Wars Draws a Sigh From Fans

Why would it boggle your mind? There were a lot that Lucas wanted in the films but could
not put in because of time restraint. He focused on the Skywalker storyline and decided to
elaborate on themes and ideas about war, politics and betrail. I think you must be blind to
say that this does not look epic. Lucas has said that there probably may be other series in
the future (probably concerning other eras in the timeframe of Star Wars) but this is what he
is foucusing on now for the first of two series he has planed so far. It looks like great old
serial adventure fun to me. I am ecstatic and canot wait.

I too look forward to this film. My only worry is not that it is a rehash of stuff that we have seen in the prequels, but rather the fact this "film", began life as the first three or four episodes of the Clone Wars TV show, and then they turned it into a movie. I fear that it wont be "cinematic" enough. Yes, the action looks good, but just cu it's going to be on the big screen, doesn't mean the material is worthy of the big screen. But I'll go none the less; Lucas owns my a large part of my soul. - Senseless Babble

It feels like I watching someone play a video game. I was really bored watching the trailer. The epic battle scenes were just really dull. I don't know much about star wars so part of the thrill of episodes 1-3 was seeing how Anakin transforms. But this movie, I already know what happens, I just can't care.

It boggles the mind because most people can't see, or want to see, or want to believe in,
or some variation of validating George Lucas's films after being disappointed with the
prequels. People will hate the film just based on a trailer and knowing little or nothing
about it simply cause the guy is George Lucas.

It looks awesome to me... I saw the Clone Wars 1 & 2 on dvd and the light scenes in
those cartoons are awesome. This is NOT a rehash.... it expands on what the live action
movies touched upon and takes place during the time between episodes 2 and 3.

As for going after some of the countless other stories in the Star Wars universe... That's
exactly what the TV series will do and this animated feature s a setup or one of those
series. Doesn't sound very mind boggling to me.

I just saw The Incredible Hulk and they had the clone Wars trailer... watching it off our
computers doesn't do justice to the picture and sound. Seeing it in the theater I can
definitely say this will be "cinematic"

    Good sound helps a lot
