Boiling Point: Too Early to Talk Avatar?
That scene with Gwen flirting with death while her close people chit chat was so bad i erased it from my memory instantly.
It's a bad movie. People should get off the cgi bandwagon because they're missing the point. This film has worst dialogue than a Steven Segal flick... and i like Steven Segal!
'Nuff said true believer! -T
More on this when I post a review in a few days.
The problem is not that the story was hokey, but that it didn't jive with the other two movies. I think most of us would have appreciated a darker tone to the third one. It also doesn't feel like a coherent thought... They could have made a great movie with 1 less villian. If I had to chose, I would have lost Sandman. But after hearing Sam Raimi talk about how much he didn't like Venom, I know that wouldn't happen... That was a major mistake in my opinion.
I know, I know perhaps a more coherent and articulate critique would have been in order, but sometimes you got to just say FUCK IT! But surely "Spiderman 3" will become a huge blockbuster (it already has judging by the early indications of its monstrous boxoffice take, this first week-end alone) no matter what some critics and a few disgruntled moviegoers (like me) say.
Oh well that's life and that's all folks...
Not every movie has to be 'great cinema', and your opinion, while valid and noted, is far from gospel. Don't bother telling Hollywood what to do, they would have hired you already if your opinion meant anything at all to them.
