Sorry for be a healty person, you need help, sorry for be positive and i fell sorry for your life it must be so sad been you, with all the hate that you are carry on, and i dont need to have like 50 years old to see that you are dissociated and im pro True! i had vote 5 times against chavez and i never been attacked by national guard and if you love so much your country (and i hopping that you are venezolano) what are you doing in US come here and work hard like me, help me to build a good country for my sons, you are the real coward hiding in the US, im here working hard and been a honest and good citizen!
  • Humilliator · 2 months ago
How cynical! When you are a victim of a dictator you can't love him. That's NORMAL. Actually, I can't say that you are a normal person. You came here saying that you're neutral and I removed your mask. You are a Chavez supporter.

You are only an ignorante little boy that doesn't understand what democracy or dictatorship are. You think that a dictatorship is police patrols checking every block 24 hours/day, ugly fearful guards checking your pockets every day and execution platoons eliminating oppositors over and over.

Even the Chilean dictatorship of Pinochet wasn't so grotesque! Many people called it "dictablanda" instead of "dictadura" because some newspapers were able to publish critics on Pinochet and his closest allies.

Even with Hitler some Germans were able to partially oppose to the Nazi dogma without being sent to a concentration camp!

I'm not in the US, dumb! I lived in Venezuela more years than what you have spent thinking that dictatorships are always terror regimes pursuing civilians in the streets with no rest.

You are not honest because you deny reality in Venezuela. Ask Julio Rivas why he was sent to jail! That would NEVER happen in democracy!

Julio doesn't think like you. He can't say that a police officer is a guarantee of being safe!
  • trueman · 2 months ago
He is not a dictator, i wish he was but no, the mayority of the people on his country love him (or his money) thats the true!

Yes, he's a dictator and the majority of the people in his country reject him. Only a third are with him, for "his" money, yeah

I thought Stone was going to present "Operation Enmanuel", a movie about a circus where a dictator received liberated captives from a terrorist group, including a boy... but wait... where's the boy? Oh, anybody has seen a boy? Oh, that terrorist group was going to free a boy that wasn't in their camps!
  • patkachirski · 2 months ago
Dictator? define dictator. As far as I know he was elected democratically by Venezuelan citizens like me.
  • Humilliator · 2 months ago
Hahahahaha. Define democracy! It's more than voting, specially in countries where the president doesn't control the electoral office.

Bah, you don't know what democracy is, what elections are, what dictatorship is... I'll give you just an example:

"send that man to the jail". If an attorney says that after a trial, it's democracy. If a president says that before any investigation, it's dictatorship.
  • Jaycer17 · 2 months ago
And that's the eternal argument. "He can't be a dictator, he was elected democratically". Who cares if he's used that democracy to do whatever the hell he wants, boasting that he's helped the poor (to a point) while destroying the rich. Democracy cannot be for a small group, which has been the eternal mistake for almost very single government we've had. Stone has decided to show one side of the Venezuelan story, and one side only. I don't know if he's a dictator --thank God we can still speak freely on TV and the media, regardless of the beating we can get afterwards-- but damn, he is no hero. I am ALSO Venezuelan, and I long for the day thatI can go out to the world and say that again.

To the FSR crew, I'm sory we didn't comment too much on the movie, and turn this into a political debate, but hey, Chavez is a polarizing phenomenon, something I do think Stone must have captured. Be ready for an outpour on both sides.

It happens. Neil's post about Smurfs in 3D devolved into a discussion on Bolshevik ideals versus practical applications and whether the modern capitalistic world could handle the shift.
  • Jaycer17 · 2 months ago
Oh, ok, now I feel better. And yes, Humilliator, I agree --propaganda.

Oh, and by the way, there he is, in the Venice Film Festival. He must be loving it, being the center of attention. I'm cutting it here, so that I can comply to the "no hate speech" policy.
  • Humilliator · 2 months ago
I agree with you, but this documental is nothing but propaganda and we can't speak about Stone and his work without falling into his political warfare. The documental as a cinematographic production is worthless. It's so poor that you can only talk about politics regarding South of the Border.

You know I've always found it sad that Rich american film stars, like Tim robbins and Sean Penn, support Hugo Chavez and his regime from the comfort of their Beverly Hills Mansions. They don't have a clue what it's like in Central an South America, to have to live under the rule of a dictator disguised under democracy. Explain to me how Chavez is not a ditactor, explain how he's been in power for over a decade and has guaranteed himself unlimited re-elections by reforming the constitution for his own benefit. I live in Honduras, and our former president was trying to do the same thing using Chavez's oil money under the ALBA agreement, so our government, which has separation of powers unlike Venezuela, took him out of power, you can call it a Coup, but we prefer that over having a puppet of Chavez ruling our country for an undefined period of time. The only reason why Chavez has not been condemned by the OAS is because of all the oil he has, after all Oil is money and money makes the world go round.

How much did Oliver Stoned get paid by Dictator Chavez for this movie? Venezuela is now in the hands of a comunist who has closed 34 radio stations and 2 TV stations and is threatening to close 20 more because they do not agree with the Chavez regime. He has modified the constitution to remain in paower indefinetly and has absolute control of the national assembly and the justice system. There are more than 1000 political prisoners now in venezuela. There is no doubt in my mind that Stone got paid big bucks by the dictator.
  • trueman · 2 months ago
victorinox you are right but he is not a dictator, if he was you can´t write on a web side telling bad thing of him, dont lie like this, you know that he is the president because the mayority of the country support him, for particular reasons thats a fact, i dont like chave either, but its about time to see that we create this monster and we have the responsibility to kill him we have to unite our country the people not the politicians
  • Humilliator · 2 months ago
Hahahaha! trueman, you're very young or have not studied history. Countries under dictatorships usually have room for people criticizing the government. YOU CAN READ CRITICS ON CUBA IN "Juventud Rebelde" and Granma!

Chavez supporters and justificators usually have a leak of arguments regarding freedom of expression. Yes, you can still say bad things about Chavez in some websites and even on the radio or newspapers, but after that Chavez announces that he will close that media, as it happened to RCTV (the license expiration was an excuse), as it's happening now to Globovision.

Websites are usually hosted... guess where... IN THE UNITED STATES! So Chavez can't control what people say here.

So trueman, be really true and stop using silly arguments to support Chavez. A website is the worst place to measure freedom of speach.

also, continuing humiliator´s comment, if he DARES to touch the Internet or the cellphones, this shit is going DOWN for good.
we´ve been taking crap from this asshole for like 10 years...there are kids who doesn´t know what is having another president.
another thing...LEGALLY he ins´t the President...in 2001 he was Kicked out by the National Guard, but he Came Back because the opposition is STUPID, and HE took the power again saying that "is a new government"...that said, in THAT moment he had like 3 years in the power, being the limit 5...he gave the finger to everyone and start from 0...there was no elections until 5 years later...what a communist bastard.

    I'm waiting for PINOCHET's flick !
  • trueman · 2 months ago
my point, obviously you didn`t get it, if we where on a dictatorship we won´t have acces to internet will be like Cuba, i live in venezuela and i know how the things are here so don't come and tell some pullshit about our country because you are not obviously in here, stop saiyng that we are on a dictatorship thats is a lie and you know it, i have a car, i pay my taxes, i have a work, i have a girlfriend we are buying a house and we are happy, living in venezuela, of course we have problems every country has poblems but you are over reacting and you are dissociated!
  • Humilliator · 2 months ago
"true"man, you are so simple... what are you expecting from Chavez? A TV conference with him signing an "I am a dictator" act?

If Chavez cuts all internet access in just one day he will be called officially a dictator! He knows what happened to Allende. Allende tried to make his anti-democratic revolution fast and that's why Chilean armed forces gave a coup to him. Chavez wants to avoid coups. That's why he's doing his revolution slowly, so people won't notice his anti-democratic trend so fast.

You must analyze all what Chavez has been doing day by day, year after year. Ten years ago Venezuela was a much more democratic country compared to what is happening today.

However, cutting internet access is NOT mandatory to be a dictator! How silly! There are many countries around the world that are not considered democratic regimes and they have almost free internet.

You say that you live in Venezuela. Well, I bet that you are too young and you have been living for few years in Venezuela and you don't know how dictatorships are in other countries.

You are so ridiculous! "I have a car". So... people under dictatorships don't have a car? Haha! "I pay my taxes". Oh, dictatorships don't have taxes! Hahaha! "I have a work". So is it supposed that people under dictatorships have no job? Haha! "I have a girlfriend". Oh, even in the Soviet Union having a girlfriend was not forbidden! Hahahaha! "We are buying a house and we are happy". Oh, so you don't live on the top of the trees? Hahahaha! How silly!

"We have problems. Every country has problems". Yeah, but I'll tell you something: MOST democratic countries don't have the kind of problems that Venezuela has. Yesterday a famous twitter user in Valencia city was sent to jail accused of "making agressions" during a march and there are no proofs of that. That IS dictatorship!

This kind of dissociated pro-chavez people disguised as "neutral" are the worse kind of cowards that people can find in Venezuela. They start talking like "I'm not with Chavez but..." and ten words later you know they're nothing but slaves of the regime.

    Oliver Stone = Delusional Idiot
  • carlosdIaz · 2 months ago

The majority of the people in his country LOVE him????? Are you on drugs??? Have you ever been to Venezuela? Have you ever been close to a "barrio" where the people that you so say LOVE him die every day as a result of violence. If they are not brutally murdered by a fellow gangster then it is the police (who is 100% controlled by the government).
Chavez goes by his rules, yes he was elected in a democracy 11 years ago. Since then he has appointed not by vote but by his own voice who has "power" in the country. Everybody knows that whoever dares to say Mr President I don't think that is such a good idea, he or she is immediately fired and the next cock sucker in line gets the job.
He just dismantled the capital's mayor's office because the person who won was not a member of his party.
He attacks, journalists, students, citizens, priests he doesn't care, if you decide to march civilly against him prepare to be attacked with tear gas or even hurt and sent to the hospital.
So please do me and yourself a favor, shut the f*ck up if you have no idea what's going on.

Humiliator are you even read my post? i said i vote 5 times against Chavez and you are saiying that i suport chavez, come to your senses you are dissociated, i have 28 years old and i have my opnion and my own way to see the reality, we are in democracy after all, and you are full of hate, you are not better tham chavez, i feell sorry for you.

Of course there is corruption in our country, but ask yourself something, wich country in the world doesn´t have corruption? and i have another question if chavez doesnt have the mayority of the people on his side how tha hell he is still on the power? learn from the mistakes from the past learn from El Paro del 2004 we loose too much !
  • Humilliator · 2 months ago
Yes, I read your lies but I don't have to believe you, haha! You support Chavez too much and you still think that you can look like an oppositor? Hahaha!
  • trueman · 2 months ago
There are not lies, is my only personal opinions, you are so blind because of the hate, you just can stand that i have a positive opinion, sorry for you, we are on a democarcy and i can say what i want, the time will says who was right and who is not!
  • Humilliator · 2 months ago
Hahaha. How cynical! You are comfortable with the leak of democracy. You are "happy" being an slave. I don't! That's why you say that I'm "full of hate", just because I don't want to be a slave.

You don't have a possitive opinion. You have the opinion of a "happy" slave.

Tell Julio Rivas that "democracy" sent him to jail for 9 years just because he moved a barrier in a march!
