After suffering through this, I have trouble imagining a less-talented director.

I think your review of Smokin' Aces really nailed it on the head. It was the kind of action movie that had an even amount of story and shooting. The acting was fantastic; I was really surprised to see how well Alicia Keys did. You really summed up everything well. Though early in the year, this is my favorite movie so far. And your right; though it deserves some award noms. its much too early in the year, and will get snubbed big time.

I did 'like' the movie but there were enough issues that I would with hold an 'A' maybe a 'B'
Mainly because of the chain saw wielding skin heads. They were interesting and there is nothing wrong with having over the top ridiculous villains but not when the rest of your movie is not equally over the top. Yes the 50 cal and the rest of the villainous cliche was a little 'unrealistic' but its not OUTRAGEOUS.
Skin heads running around with chain saws, swords and road flares is out of this world OUTRAGEOUS! It did not blend well with this movie.
For that reason alone I would not give this flick an A

Yeah, this movie was crap. I thought that it's few OUTRAGEOUS moments were the only bearable part of the movie. They were absurd enough to almost make me forget that I was watching a pretentious, boring, Guy Ritchie wannabe movie.

Honestly, if they had cut the card tricks out of the script, it would have been half-decent.
