That's a shame because the original is one of the best horror movies i've seen in recent years. Truely frightening and engaging.... not surprised hollywood went and screwed it up like they did with Eye and Pulse....

I have to agree with "ihavemoles"; I really enjoyed the original version. I'm also waiting to see the remake of The Eye, which I enjoyed even more than the original Shutter. I feel both with disappoint. Originally, I saw the American versions of The Ring and the Grudge and enjoyed them, which was a reason to see the originals and other Japanese-eque movies. However, sadly to say, the American sequel to both these movies, as well as the majority of the newer remakes and pretty damn terrible. Ju-on; The Grudge 2 is brutal and after watching it, I lent the DVD to my friends - watch that instead!

The original is pretty decent, even if it isn't THAT original, it's still quite good.
I haven't watched the remake but I have hated every Asian remake apart from The Departed and from what I am reading about the Shutter remake it's just not worth it.

I too agree with ihavemoles,this movies sucks...joshua is walking around like a zombie throughout the movie, rachel taylor tries too hard! overall hollywood should stop making remakes of asian masterpiece horror movies.
