I am a fan of this shouting match business!

I keep flip flopping, but I currently feel that the Star Trek Universe > Star Wars Universe

I've always loved Star Trek over Star Wars. I haven't seen the new movie yet though so I'm not sure if Abrams brings it back, but I hear good things.

I think Star Wars ruined Sci Fi on some fronts. It put fantasy elements in science fiction and took out a lot of the science, making a trend of flashy space battles with no substance. Not saying star wars has no substance, just the things that follow in it's footsteps usually don't.

    ummm...Star Wars obviously.

    Trek hands down

I'm only saying--Tina Fey is a Star Wars fan...

Why would we open this pandora's box? Especially when we know that Howard the Duck is superior to both.
  • Kevin_Carr · 6 months ago
    You so crazy, Cole A-Bai-us!
  • PaulSileo · 6 months ago
    Star Wars, muh'fucka.

The new Star Trek crushes any version of Star Wars. Maybe I'm too young (1980) but both were pretty gay in my opinion growing up.

Now that I'm older, I've been to the theater to see all three films in the later Star Wars Trilogy as well as the new JJ Star Trek film and after seeing those movies, is it really that close? Wars blew compared to the new Trek.

new star trek greater than star wars espcially GREATER than EPS 1 2 AND 3 COMBINED.
  • Debaser · 6 months ago
Hey Lucas! Get off your @ss and do something! Maybe you could take some lessons from Abrams.
  • blewskymoon · 6 months ago
Agreed. The new Star Trek movie Shat all over the Star Wars prequels and then some. I think even the original three might have been kicked around a bit. I have always like both, but I think I have to go with Trek on this one.

oooook...that was interesting. But Star Wars is much better. What would sci-fi be without a (summarised from a book) Yuuzhan Vong dovin basal killing Chewbacca's ass . What does the Enterprise have? Hot girls pulling Kirk's pants off? If any of you guys had a girl you'd realize Star Wars is better. But I have to admit the prequels suck as much as Pepsi. My god! Attack of the clones taught me to bring a bucket to the movies. For EP 3, i needed it. BLEAGHHH! as im bilingual, i'll sum it up in german: Star Wars werden das Sitzen fetter Esel Trekkie Streber schlagen, bis Lucas stirbt. Dann wird es Sterntreck schlucken und es als Karate-Kommandotruppen von Chuck Norris vollscheißen: Jahreszeit 2. Hahahaha non German speaking peoples!!!!

Star wars and star trek are good, but stargate is tha best!!
  • Bethany P · 6 months ago
    kevin makes a compelling argument.
  • Josh_Radde · 6 months ago
Why? Because he takes a "Bethany Perryman-inspired sexual angle"? Pssh.
  • Killian · 6 months ago
Star wars hands down wins all. Though I do enjoy star trek, I'll take empire over Kahn any day.
  • Voltron · 6 months ago
just curious: which is faster, the Millenium Falcon or the SS Enterprise?
  • Matt · 6 months ago
The Millennium Falcon is the fastest ship in the galaxy. It did the kessel run in under 12 parsecs!
  • Meli · 6 months ago
I grew up loving both, but for me Star Wars always had the larger section of my heart even the new Star Trek movie can't change that though I will admit the movie delivered more than the prequels. I love the mythology and universe of Star Wars.

I grew up with Star Wars, but realised early on that Kirk would kick the crap out of a whole army of Wookies. It's Kirk for the win.
  • Matthew Montgomery · 6 months ago
    I must agree with Fred...

The New Star Trek kicked some serious ass...
The Old Star Wars would've killed Leonard Nimoy...

I would like to give a point to Star Wars in the form of video games. Yes Star Trek has had some memorable games, but everyone can recall Dark Forces, Knights of the Old Republic (1 & 2), and many, many more. I will freely admit that for every good Star Wars game there are 2 crappy ones, however that is still better than the Star Trek 1 decent game to 4 crappy ones (which account for all 10 games where Star Wars has dozens)

    First off they both suck.
Second off Star Wars is fantasy not science fiction (Space ships and aliens does not science fiction make).
Science fiction questions what it means to be human, using scientific (if imposable) ideas. Star trek actually did that in the original show, but far less in the movies. So whats the better Science Fiction? I am forced to say star trek, because it is the only one that remotely fits the category of science fiction.
