  • Harold · 1 year ago
28 days later - smartest zombie movie. EVER
  • Danny Davis · 1 year ago
My favourite epidemic film is Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy. I was such a mark for the Kids in the Hall, and I just got such a kick out of the film on many levels.
  • Debra Bashford · 1 year ago
The Stand. Loved the characters and the story line, it pulls you in and you get to know these people. I could not put the book down.
  • Jason Stack · 1 year ago
I've got to agree with Harold and go with 28 Days Later. Boyle has revolutionized
zombie films, even though the infected aren't called zombies. Christopher Eccleston
and Cillian Murphy were top-notch in the movie.
  • Navs · 1 year ago
I'd agree with Debra, but The Stand is not a movie, it was a book and miniseries, so I don't think it counts. My next pick is 28 days later, one of the few zombie movies where everyone doesn't die and the world isn't hopelessly doomed (until the sequel anyway).
  • Dani · 1 year ago
I will have to agree with everyone else and say 28 days later. It was the
first zombie type movie that seemed real because the zombies movied
so much faster and were more human like.
  • ellen cunningham · 1 year ago
I would have to say The Stand. Thanks
  • Rita A · 1 year ago
    Andromedia Strain
  • Brianna · 1 year ago
After watching this yesterday I'll have to say Blindness because I love how Meirelles directed it. He showed us how digusting and evil people are.
  • Darren Perleberg · 1 year ago
"Outbreak" was and still is an excellent movie.
  • John S. · 1 year ago
I would say my favorite epidemic film is Children of Men. The cinematography in that film is unparalleled, and I also enjoyed how they didn't go do deep in explaining how these things happened. That's the trick every great epidemic movie uses, and I felt Children of Men used it greatly.
  • Cary Gordon · 1 year ago
Gotta agree with Rita A on The Andromeda Strain. At least the original movie. The miniseries just missed the point of the original story, I think.
  • Trace · 1 year ago
28 Days Later is a serious take on the "zombie" thing, but the 2004 Dawn of the Dead was just as good. It blended the usual doom-and-gloom drama and strife with some humor sprinkled here and there.

    And c'mon - Jake Weber's cool.
  • Jake · 1 year ago
    The Crappening...

No seriously, Shaun of the Dead.
  • Luke · 1 year ago
The Stand, if TV mini-series are allowed. If not, 28 Days Later. I was convinced zombies were outside my theater that day.
  • Alex · 1 year ago
I must admit that my all time favorite epidemic movie has to be Outbreak...hands down
  • Tyler · 1 year ago
Children of Men was one of the most overlooked films of the academy in 2006
  • Chris · 1 year ago
Outbreak...you know...the one with the monkey.
  • Peter · 1 year ago
    28 Days Later
  • Keith · 1 year ago
For a long time I would have said Children of Men, but now that we have Blindness, my answer has shifted. I've never been so blown away by an 'outbreak' genre of movie before. Sure, 28 Days Later was intense, but I can never be convinced that Zombies are going to happen. Children of Men of was logical and very well done, but Blindness was such a beautiful metaphor that was introduced with such mystery that I really felt that this, or any other plague could sweep through and crush us all at any second. I also really love that Blindness poster
  • Dee · 1 year ago
Shaun of the Dead has to be an easy pick for me!
  • CaliPunkRockGirl · 1 year ago
Children of Men... just the idea of a world without children is so chilling and thought provoking. plus it was simply an amazing film
  • supremejred · 1 year ago
    outbreak or 28 days later.

outbreak was just good to me when i was younger and i really enjoyed it

28 days later was unlike any other zombie movie and i liked the real look to it, you know
the dirty look. Not all glitz and glamour like most movies.
  • Grant · 1 year ago
Outbreak. That movie set the stage for epidemic movies. The thought that it could happen in suburbia made it that much more frightening
  • Raz · 1 year ago
Night of the living the dead - the original, it is simply a timeless classic. And also Dawn of the Dead, one of the best sequel movies, it is everything from scary, dramatic, to funny..
  • David Hollingsworth · 1 year ago
I don't think that this is could be called an epidemic film, but my favorite has to be The China Syndrome. I just think that it is one of the scariest movies ever made; it's not a horror film, but it could be consider as one because of the unbearable reality of it. The events that took place in the film could actually happen in real life, and it did, so that's what makes it so disturbing.
  • Carolyn Barnett · 1 year ago
Children of Men is the one i choose
  • Ken Robinson · 1 year ago

    The Stand
  • SabrinalTierce · 1 year ago
28 days later... the most honest I have ever seen, from the scene where he beats the boy with the baseball bat and you can feel the conflict of emotions (guilt, relief, even happiness that he was not infected himself, but overall sadness in that he had to kill him at all) then the scene with the military men, no one wants to think about it .. but it would have been expect of that poor girl to .. well it is all the nasty things we don't talk about with epidemic movies.. and 28 days later approached them very well..
  • BRYAN · 1 year ago
After seeing Blindness yesterday, I have to go with that one. I know a lot of people didn't like it but I thought it was a masterpiece!
  • An Nguyen · 1 year ago
Hands down...Children of Men. Such a trippy story line and the movie did everything right.
  • Roger · 1 year ago
I would have said "I Am Legend" as I liked it as a remake of the first two movies and "!2 Monkeys" was good but not as realistic. But having seen "Blindness", it is the best acted and far and away the most realistic in the way people and the government would respond I think.
  • Jennifer Barnett · 1 year ago
I really liked Marathon Man with Charlton Heston. It was the original before I Am Legend.

Gotta join the crowd and pick "28 Days Later" -- it really broke the mold for zombie films, and any movie with a naked Cillian Murphy has got to jump to the top of any list.
  • Thomas Semesky · 1 year ago
CHILDREN OF MEN. An overlooked film that was well acted and directed.

I AM LEGEND!!!! Look, I can appreciate the lovers of 28 Days Later - it was very scary and very compelling - but I Am Legend was a beautiful story and Will Smith acted wonderfully.
