Film School Rejects: Robert Rodriguez Targets June Start for ‘Machete’

Seeing how his Madman project is dead (damn shame too, loved that comic), I'm interested first in Sin City 2, then Machete. The world can never have enough Trejo.

    The Jetson?? Seriously? WHY?
  • RobertFure · 7 months ago
Probably because R.R. built the majority of his fortune on the backs of Spy Kids, not his racier material.

But there isnt a story in the Jetsons. At least nothing that would draw in enough people to pay for the cost of the movie.

    Two Words......Pluto Nash.

Tell that to two Flintstones movies.

The Machete trailer had me laughing in my seat. A nice call back to Trejo's character in Desperado. Im glad they decided to make the film. Will def be in true grindhouse fashion! Tip of the hat to you Mr. Rodriguez. So strange that Sin City was filmed here and nice to see that the majority of the second is, too. Although I too am not feeling the Jestons. Are we in store for another Spy Kids? Heck no. But I guess they cant all be great.

Sin City 2 trumps all of the others, but I'm also interested in Machete and Predators. Not so sure about The Jetsons, though.

I love Machete!! They need to put this in NC17 ratings, boobs, frontal nudie, and all the gory scenes you can handle, and boobs, lots and lots of boobs!!

Predators intrigues me.. I'm a huge fan of the two originals and thought the newer two films were.. entertaining at the very least. I'm anxious to see what Rodriguez can do with some commandos and aliens.

I'd actually be okay if Robert Rodriguez never made another movie again.

I'd actually be okay if you never made another comment again...but we can't all have what we want, can we?

Here's a new slant on the Predator movies, how about telling the story from THIER perspective. Screw the Marines, they are going to be fodder anyway and if they can beat a race of Hunters with a 10000 year advance in technology then the whole premise of their culture is not valid.

I wonder why they're calling "Predators" a reboot. That's completely unnecessary. The AvP series has been profitable and relatively in continuity. Predator is flawless, Predator 2 is ok. They should just make Predators be Predator 3. No need to reboot the franchise, for the most part the existence of the creatures is still unknown.

But because they're calling it a reboot, I'll bet it is a group of guys on a mission in the rain forest who come across several predators. Anything with Predators in it, I'm down for.

I wonder if predator$ was the same pitch as alien$.
