Boiling Point: Twilight
JAMES CAMERON: Yeah. Ridley and I talked about doing another ALIEN film and I said to 20th Century Fox that I would develop a 5th ALIEN film. I started working on a story, I was working with another writer and Fox came back to me and said, "We've got this really good script for ALIEN VS PREDATOR and I got pretty upset.
If you want to shake up the genre have Ripley stumble upon a Predatore and let them sort out which is prey and which is the true Predatore.
Just because it might not feature the xenomorphs doesn't mean it isn't an alien film.
Also, Alien3 wasn't actually that bad. I thought the dog thing was a good idea, made for a bit of a difference in the monster designs.
Do we really need Ripley in another alien film? Has the character not been fully explored? I would rather see a dark reboot. The alien is the star anyway, we didn't have a ripley in any of the AvP embarrassments. Why not a whole new trilogy of linked stories like the Terminator reboot? McG help us out here!
