To be fair to Cera, he was really good in this role in Superbad. But I agree, he needs to move on and find something new, lest he becomes the next Mike Meyers.

Damn, I have yet to read a good review for this... I knew it would either sink or soar, it's too bad. The only thing I would comment on was that it was always obvious that this would be Jack Black and Michael Cera playing what they always play, only in loincloths. That's part of the joke, and I still like the idea.
I have a very broad range for comedy, so I'll probably still see this movie, mainly because Hank Azaria and Oliver Platt are some of the best supporting actors/scene stealers I know of.

Does the film have the "holy of holies" dialogue? I noticed that it was cut from the later trailers and TV spots. Anyway, I am a Jack Black fan and I'll see it eventually.

I was planning on seeing this movie tonight, yet all the reviews that I have been reading are starting to change my mind. I guess I will see it sometime when the time rolls around. If I do I'll be sure to leave my two cents.

Wow Oliver Platt stole the scenes? He ruined every scene he was is, he killed the movie for me. He hammed it up way to much and it was cringe worthy. How could anyone like that? I thought Jack Black and Michael Cera's chemistry actually worked. I did not like the movie that much either but what killed it was bad directing and lazy writing. I do agree on David Cross, he stole every single scene, he is the only reason i would ever watch this again.

Oh c'mon it wasn't that bad, if you stylize a movie of course its going to show its crapyness, this movie was awesome if you just got into it, you know what helps, see that shit on weed, you will never regret paying the 9 bucks lol
