As someone familiar with the Amish, I can say that they do in fact have a "rumpspringer" period. I haven't seen how its portrayed in the film yet, but basically they're allowed to go experience the outside world and do whatever they want and then are allowed to come back to Amish life, no questions asked, or move away.

I think I'll stick with being Amish.

Wow. I never knew that rumpspringer was a real concept... probably not as sordid as it is portrayed in the film.

Kevin, check out 2002's Devil Playground by Lucy Walker. I have not seen it yet, so I'm just passing along second hand knowledge, but the entire thing is a documentary about the whole rumspringa thing. I guess Walker got "unprecedented" access to the Amish community to study it and all the shit they do. Apparently it's pretty sweet and was nominated for like 3 emmys, and won an award at two film fests.
anyway, Sexdrive looks interesting. I always need to reassociate with my awkward high school years.

My wife and I thought this movie was funnier than Tropic Thunder. The movie was halarious, had hot women, and a classic pontiac muscle car. It couldn't get any better for me. We laughed our butts off.
