Film School Rejects: Review: In Regards to Your Movie, ‘Twilight’

  • BillBrasky · 1 year ago
My bride has read this book 3 times, and carries it in her purse (hopefully won't be like Mark David Chapman and "Catcher in the Rye") I purchased advanced tickets, and we kind of knew this was going to be the end result. Hopefully, we will still benefit from the few positve aspects that were pointed out.

"Better luck next time," said Cole.

Glad to know what I'm in for tonight when I venture to the theater. I haven't been expecting greatness, but it sounds like I might feel your same frustration from your review. With low expectations I might enjoy it a little more.

Cole, you know how I have no respect for you? How the general respect I give to a stranger slowly faded away over the months due to your writing and opinions? How my respect for you dropped even more after we met and I had to listen to your whiny ass in person? How your manufactured appreciation of all things 'Twilight' was both ridiculous and pathetic?

Well you just earned a little of that respect back.

Look the book was the best and to sit there and dream for a wonderful movie to come out that would be like the book in amazing details and go from point A to point B not skipping a part is not what happened in the movie twilight! It was horrible the main actors were horrible the skipped so many parts that if a person that didn't read the book and just watched the movie they were probably like what the heck is the big deal about this movie and book! It was ruined The actors shouldnt even be considered a professional actor they sucked and they recited as if the were in a play. such a disappointment can even say enough of how bad the movie was thank god i waited to see in on DVD even that was a a waste and to want to do a second movie new moon yea right i think the should pick new actors and save themselves the embarrassment!!!!

Saw it last night and was somwhat satisfied, but with a bad taste in my mouth. It was decent throughout and the stroy followed the book well but of course not perfectly. Then there were the crucial scenes or more serious scenes that fell apart due to Hardwickes impatience or what else she had going on that made her use bad takes for the movie. Sigh, I agree.. it couldnt been better and would have become a favorite for 2008. oh well....

The movie was horrible and lifeless, Stewart ruined Bella! Stewart ruined "Twilight," just like she did "The Land of Women. How does Stewart have an acting career?! She was like Haden Christianson in the first three episodes of Star Wars, awful!!! The story didn't move smoothly, because so much of the important details were left out. My boyfriend agreed to go with me, because I bought tickets and he knew I wanted to see the movie. I was so excited and then during the movie, was disappointed. None of the emotion in Meyers' books were in the movie. Its only redeeming quality was Pattinson, he has all the makings of a heart throb, its just too bad Stewart can't act and had no on screen chemistry with Pattinson. The screen play and Stewart's acting ruined this movie! Get ride of Stewart and have a better screenplay for the next movie, if there is one, after this horrible disaster. I'm sure Stephanie Meyers, is embarrassed about how awful her book was portrayed on screen.

    Wonderful review!

When you say the acting was strong, I hope you don't mean Robert Pattinson's. He was horrid.

Twilight was the worst movie I have ever seen. It was so bad I wanted to shoot my self in the face the first 10 minutes of the movie. The only good thing about this movie is that I got to see it for free. If I would have had to pay I would have wanted my money back. From one to ten I give it a zero. I have to grow two more arms for I can give Twilight four thumbs down...!!!

Personally I thought one of the worst points was the acting, body language and the HUGE plot holes. come ON the Cullens would NOT just LET three vampires hunt any where near town! i was dreaming of a good movie, but expecting a bad one. i was right, the best part was how accidentally HILARIOUS it was. i really wish i could talk to the person who adapted the story and offer my help with the next one.

    -sighs-

    Stewart should not play Bella,

    Bella is emotional

threw out this whole movie Stewart seems like she was trying to hard...and thats frustrating...

there were so many of romantic parts in the book that weren't even in the movie.... and i read the book twice...i was still lost in the movie... nothing flowed. I felt like i had to keep up because i was missing parts i expected to see.... for example the romantic moment in the meadow.... i doubt laying on the grass is not romantic!!!!!!!
there was so much that should have been done and said but wasn't.... i blame the writer....

Honestly I'm dreading the second movie.... unless Stewart does better i really cant see Eclipse happening... and i want it soooo bad

I have to agree in general with Cole's critique of Twilight. I found the lousy wirework too distracting to get past, and the script was not what it should have been. This might be (from what I heard) because the first script was thrown out and perhaps the new script was thrown together too quickly to do the book (and the fans) justice. I hope this is the case, rather than the screenwriter being that bad, because she's contracted to do the next two films. One thing I disagree with in Cole's review is the special effect of vampire skin. I was actually pleased they went subtle instead of the usual Hollywood overkill into the ridiculous. Overall, I was disappointed the movie wasn't what it could have been, but didn't regret the five I spent to see it, and will go see the next one.

i don't understand what is the appeal of Robert Pattinson (Edward), his nose looks funny to me

lolol.....I don't even remember hearing a voiceover...Maybe I'm just naive!! I'm a 32 year old woman, and I LOVED the movie. Maybe I'm a freak for liking it so much but I'm just simply in love. With a limited budget I didn't expect it to be this grand hooplahaa..but the story is just so fascinating to me that it just didn't matter how good or bad the movie was. It's fun to see a book come alive in theaters. Pattison is a great actor and i can't wait to see him in Little Ashes.

If by Edward and Bella you mean Angel and Buffy, and if by Stephenie Meyer you mean Joss Whedon, then yeah. Brilliant shit.

did you even read the book? obviously not if you say those things. you should learn how to read first then see the movie again before you judge it and make yourself sound like a complete retard

the movie sucked. kristen stewart is the most boring girl and worse actris.. a dont even have words for her. Bella is sweet. clumpsy. smart. shy. kristen is a tom boy. akward, unexpressive, social retard. and angry loking. the permanent gasping, blinkink, twinchin... is disgustin.
why TF would a 100 year old vampire find her interestin. you cant see the love in this love story. its like rob pattinson is fallin in love with a peace of plastic. (I think he did what he could in the movie)
the book is so beatifull. so romantic. the book doesnt make you wounder why Edward likes bella, is there.
the movie is poorest adaptation posible. the review on top is lame by the way. the voice-off wasnt wronge condidering how unexpressive kristen is. the problem bisades kristen but related to her, is the lack of dialog. they cut it all off. and change the story too much. goossh I could have written the script, I swear. the movie is film like a musical video or something. the director is a very superficial and antalented woman. and with poor imagination for castin kristen stewar as bella. for that this franchise is ruined.

In the new moon trailer u can see how the writters didnt even bothered. they adaped the script to go around kristen lack of talent. the movie is about jackob and the peace of plastic now. There´s a part in the trailer where kristen actually hits Sam! ?¿ Bella wouldn do that!!. she hated him at first but was intimidated by him. and kristen´s voice when she talks or screams. its so unconfortable. I cant belive the so call twilight fans. how poor can be their taste and imagination. poor stephanie mayer.
