Film School Rejects: Review: Gran Torino

Alericc · 11 months agoI will be at the movies to see this the day it comes out. Eastwood has always had the ability to connect with the common themes in life that I have found to be genuine. More over he says what a lot of people are thinking but may be too afraid to speak aloud.

raidz torino · 10 months agoGood grade. I keep getting the feeling lots of people are missing the point in this movie. You guys didn't. Eastwood did a superb job!

Patrick · 10 months agoI thought the movie was excellent. It was, in many ways, "Unforgiven" told differently. I was disappointed in the last 15 minutes. I felt the ending was formulaic and predictable. I wish they had taken that 15 minutes and given it 30 minutes of nuanced story instead. I think the forces that be don't give us audience enough credit to sit through a few extra minutes and contemplate the ending rather than have it spoon fed to us. It happens too many times. I think that if they had given the conclusion the time and nuances attention it deserves, this might have been as good as Shawshank Redemption.

reggie · 9 months agoThe movie was a C- at best the only reason to go see the movie is Clint Eastwood. The ending leaves you unsatisfied, some of the scenes seemed pointless. The movie had potential and I really wanted it to be a good movie, but alas it failed me in so many ways. My suggestion if you must see this movie wait until it comes to dvd and rent it.
