Looks great. Maybe this will finally help me forgive Michael Mann for Miami Vice.
  • DMuff · 8 months ago
Come on now Miami Vice wasn't that bad.

    Miami Vice sucked grundel.

Looks great, but a few shots looked like that weak digital Cinematography from Miami Vice was there. Can maybe we get an Oscar nods for Bale or Depp? Hopefully this is the film. Only downside, because Mann directed it, it's going to be 3 hours long. =P

very much the same digital cin. I kind of like the look...I have to agree like Fincher, Mann can't part with scenes and doesn't spend much time cutting running time...

Very nice trailer, I know I'm being redundant but I can't wait for this flick!

I'll go and see this one. Johnny Depp has the attitude to pull off Dillenger who was a cocky son of a bitch.

Law Enforcement old style, when you shot at the Cops, they shot at you till you stopped moving or they ran out of ammo.

I liked Miami VIce in the day, but it needed more action and less sitting around talking about motivation and emotion.

I think Mann knows how to use digital cameras better than almost any director out there, but it always weirds me out a lil when I see digital used in period films.

I'm also not sure what they were going for with the music in this trailer...oh well, like the odd use of "Comfortably Numb" in advertising The Departed, that totally won't matter when the film comes out
  • hungrytim · 8 months ago
Yeah, I wasn't really feeling the music either

    Damn. Johnny.

You clearly don't live in Los Angeles.

Wow you didn't like Miami Vice?...I can understand the show but the movie was a vast improvement from Collateral...those action scenes were amazing
  • PaulSileo · 8 months ago
I personally thought Collateral was vastly superior to Miami Vice.
  • Homero · 8 months ago
Agreed. Collateral is one of my favorite action/thrillers of all time.

I have to admit the supporting cast was better...but Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx were horrible in it...as much as I enjoy Michael Mann ...Thief being his best films, Collateral felt more like Manhunter....a few great moments but the ending was slow, dull and predicable... it has many flaws in it's third act....you'd think Mann would have been smarter and cast Javier Bardem or Mark Ruffalo as Vince instead of robot Cruise
