Film School Rejects: Pineapple Express Posters are More of the Same

  • Her? · 1 year ago
    This is sooo bad...
Judd Apatow is a one trick pony much..the poster is pretty much the same from knocked up, which was a good movie so perhaps the intention is to evoke memories of that movie with audiences. Then right at the bottom of the poster it says "from the guys who brought you superbad"...

Clearly these posters are intended to bring in the adults who enjoyed knocked up and the teenagers who enjoyed superbad. meh. ill be giving this movie a miss..will be too busy watchin tropic thunder!

Well, the fact that the posters suck doesn't mean that the *film* will suck.

It still looks funny to me - I loved Superbad and Knocked Up, - so I'll definitely be seeing it in theatres.

The poster are hilariously simple-which sucks considering the movie looks much better than that! But hey, when appealing to the masses, simple works because the public en masse cannot seem to handle complex and what else can you really do to promote a movie that is about weed and the cause & effect of smoking too much and then seeing something that wasn't meant for your eyes to see in the first place? How do you sum that up? You can't, without it looking like an Indiana Jones/Star Wars movie poster, (you know, with the classics painted look & scenes of all the action going on around or behind the faces of the main characters), so as these two fellers are the main characters, seeing them stoned says the brunt of what this movie is involving-& that's a whole lotta weed. To quote Nate Dogg, "Hey, Hey, Heeey-Hey. Smoke weed everyday."

& if there are two comedies you see this summer Pineapple Express should be one of them.

Now Seth has been quoted to say this is an action film not a comedy just like what he intends to do with the Green Hornet. If we take the man at his word then we can expect the Green Hornet to be a train wreck!
