Film School Rejects: Paranormal Activity Cuts Saw VI Down, Wins Weekend

  • Peter Donohue · 4 weeks ago
Man, can Paranormal Activity PLEASE come to my theater for Halloween? I don't want to be stuck watching Saw XX or whatever.

I saw the first and second Saw movies, but after that I became disinterested. Now there is a Saw VI? When will it end?

I in no way intend to defend Amelia, but it's hard to say it did "worse" than Astro Boy or Cirque du Freak when its theater count was significantly lower and its per-screen-average significantly higher. In fact, the film had the highest per screen average of any of the weekend's wide releases, barely inching out Saw VI by less than $50 per screen.

That being said, expect Amelia to drop off quickly. It's a huge piece of shit.

And by any of the weekend's wide releases I mean the films that opened new this weekend.

Also, I anticipate Paranormal will dominate Halloween weekend as well.

And lastly, even though this was the smallest opening for a Saw movie, it still made all it's money back in one weekend. Expect plenty more of these year in, year out.

Does no one remember that High School Musical 3 beat Saw last year too? Seriously, internet, you can choose reality just because it was a good movie this year.

    "When will it end?"

*yawn* Idiotic whining about a series that you in no way are being forced to watch. Quit your complaining and let people enjoy what they enjoy, it's none of your business and you just sound like a giant tool.
