Film School Rejects: Oscar Week: Best Original Score

Robert Fure · 1 year agoI'm absolutely in love with the 3:10 to Yuma score. I feel like it is at once both fresh and classic. The main theme (The 3:10 to Yuma) is quintessential Western theme made new again. I'm pulling for it. While I agree Westerns are often ignored, when they actually get noticed and nominated (rarely) they manage to pull in Oscars. Young Guns won "Best Original Song" and Unforgiven, of course, did well.

Kevin · 1 year agoI like that track too off of 3:10. Too bad it was only in the all important ending. I like old Western themes even if they may be corny to some. You got some good examples of winners in the genre. I was surprised researching film music winners and found almost nothing even in the golden age of Westerns. I would think one of those classics would have won something.
