    Good article Robert!
I remember watching Downeys life turn into "Less than Zero", but now he's a Superhero. Amazing!!

I think it all started to turn around when he won a Golden Globe back a few years ago.
He had just been released from jail I think for something and the Hollywood community gave him the Globe. I don't remember what it was for? (Maybe Robert you could check that?)
But that's when he decided not to let them down anymore.(I could see it in his eyes).
After that he went into rehab and everything started to go his way. I believe the Hollywood Community also gave him the Golden Globe, as a way to say to the producers of Alley McBeal "fuck you, we want him in films anyway!!"

His Golden Globe was for his work on Alley McBeal, he received a standing ovation.

Thanks Robert yeah I can't say much but I remember that standing ovation. I also remember he was backstage not eating at one of the tables that night.

And that yes the award was given from the Foriegn Press Assoc to Downey as a Fuck You to the Producers of Ally McStank. Thanks for checking that.

I think he should of been nominated for Zodiac, but now I think he should be nominated for Iron Man hes just that damn good.

It would be great to see Robert Downey win an Oscar or at least get nominated for Iron Man.

He will (for sure) win the next Peoples Choice Award.

I agree, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is one of the most underrated films around, i love everything about it- Downey Jr.'s performance especially. He brings his natural charisma and humour to the role, and it works so well in that film's context.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was awesome, smart, and funny. Now if only Hollywood would give Downey's co-star in that underrated classic another chance at redemption too... perhaps there's a comic book superhero role for Val Kilmer? Hmmmm....

I saw Iron man last night and was completely blown away, not just by the special effects, but by his performance. It was pitch perfect, every facial expression, vocal inflection, and lift of the eyebrow. I have been an enormous fan of his for years, and rooted for him so much (like pretty much everyone else) that he'd work through his personal demons, and come out on the other side a better man, and for his fans, a better actor (if that was possible). I can't wait for the sequel. and, can't wait for his next picture.

I have to see Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Is Val Kilmer any good in it?
  • Robert Fure · 1 year ago
Oh my, Brian! It's one of Val Kilmer's best performances, I think. He is utterly hilarious and plays such a unique character. I totally just lavished praise, but really, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is fantastic and its the best Val Kilmer performance in years.
