Film School Rejects: Nicolas Cage: Ghost Rider May Ride Again

  • PrimedHero · 4 months ago
I don't understand why people didn't like this movie, aside from some of the battles being way too short and easy for Ghost Rider to win, i think the movie overall was very entertaining, and i for one would love to see a sequel!

You're one of a kind, my friend.

Watching that movie was like having cliche after cliche driven into my temple by Uwe Boll. It was all so faux-dramatic, and oddly boring. Nothing really made sense, and even when it did, it just felt really flat to me.

It was during the height of the movement of comic book films where producers believed that creating something really shallow and exposition-heavy was what audiences wanted. It's funny to watch a movie like Ghost Rider and then follow it up with Daredevil, because they are definitely similar. Then watch The Dark Knight and see how unfair the comparisons are.

Ghost Rider was pretty bad, but i wouldn't say disaster. I thought it was worth a rent and had some pretty cool looking (but obvious) cgi.

I'm with Primed...'Ghost Rider' is hilarious. I love it.

A good serious movie cannot be made about a 'superhero' that looks like a Meatloaf album cover come to life. The only thing you can do is go camp, and that's what they did. It cracks me up every time I see it.

I rank this movie as one of the top 5 worst movies I've ever seen. I can't believe they're making sequel. Thank God "The Dark Knight" (for major super heroes) and "Iron Man" (for the traditional B-listers) have changed the way people are approaching these films.

How can this be on the bottom 5 when i can name 5 superhero movies alone that are way worse than it: 'Elektra', 'Catwoman', 'Punisher: Warzone', 'Howard the Duck', and the infamous 'Batman & Robin'.
  • Reebee7 · 4 months ago
Haven't sat Elektra or Catwoman all the way through, never saw the first or second Punisher or Howard the Duck. Batman and Robin is truly atrocious, but at least it was TRYING to a campy shit storm. SUCCESS! But yes it's also in my bottom five.

I actually like the movie. Well, except for the Nic Cage part. I mean, in his day he had some decent characters, but he's a bit long in the tooth for the superhero thing. I did enjoy the effects. Loved the ghost horse... I think I liked all the "ghosty" parts and basically none of the people parts. What can you do. A reboot would be great, but Nic, please, just produce or something.

It was pretty bad, but unlike that new garb of a superman movie at least ghost rider kept me awake. iron man i don't think is half as good as everyone thinks it is either with robert playing his wise crackin self.

Ya know, I could actually see a "Ghost Rider" sequel (I would prefer a reboot, but it looks like Nick won't give it to us). I thought "Ghost Rider" had a lot of cool visuals; flaming horse rider, riding bike up the side of the building, and melting both pavement and meters on the go. What I would ask for in a 'reconception' of the franchise is: much MUCH longer action sequences, better villains, and the absence of Cage looking like a complete fool during each transformation. Also, I think a dark director with a flare for action could make this movie work. Since Nolan won't so much as fart in the direction of Ghost Rider, I would settle for Paul Anderson (potentially Alex Proyas and Mark Dippe).

The first film wasn't too bad, the visuals was pretty cool but the action was so weak that it lost points for the movie. It the sequel was darker, had better action and a better director, I'll give it a chance.

I also liked it. and i've seen really bad hero flicks. How can you hate when he's riding up the building with the bike and the windows are melting. I thought the movie was Badass. Heres 5 really bad flicks Batman with Jim Carrey, Batman with AH-Nold, The spirit, superman returns, xmen origins. those are pure crap.

Nicolas Cage could actually ramp a Harley that was on fire off some canyon, ditch it mid way, and land in a crash pad of boobs and it still wouldn't be as badass as Ghostrider: The Concept.

The movie suffered because we weren't watching Nic Cage, we were watching a CG head on a stuntman's body. Whether or not the movie-going public realised that up front, deep down inside it detached them from the lead character. They should have used less CG and more skull-mask-and-cg-flames.

I would be ALL for a NEW ghostrider movie... so A reboot (in the way Hulk was redone w/ Norton and was AMAZING).

so. that means no Nic cage.. crazy I know but Blaze is supposed to be a teen. NOT a balding 40+ YR OLD MAN.
