"Your beeest? Losers always whine about their best. Winner's go home and f*ck the prom queen!"
    "Carla was the prom queen."
    "Oh, really?!"

I do like this movie... haven't seen it in years though. Your enthusiasm for the Rock has got me out the door on my way to the video store.

I remember seeing it in theaters with my Dad when it came out . Been a favorite ever since. I think this movie is highly underappreciated.

I was thinking of one of the good bits from that movie just the other day. The brief exchange between General Hummel and his next in command (not right before the shower scene although that was good too), but later in the movie where Ed says, "I'm asking you as a friend" then "I'm ordering you as a superior officer," and finally "And now I'm telling you as a man with a gun."

This was also a time when Nicholas Cage was capable of choosing his projects wisely.

I agree, i just caught this on cable days ago,
and the sequences you mentioned are awesome...

one more to add to the list...Goodspeed's playing guitar, while naked as a means of de-stressing after a particularly bad day at work!

    .... a true cage moment!

Surely the single best exchange in the movie has to be when Goodspeed and Mason are seperating to find the missiles and find Hummel and Goodspeed asks

"But what about Mr. Hendersons head?"

Mason turns around and gives him a thumbs up.

This movie rocks so hard. I love living in SF just because of this film.
