What the hell is John Cleese doing here?

The studios all talk about going green and its all a bunch of marketing. There all faking it. Just another show. I've been on supposed "Green" shows and time after time I've seen the left over recycling bins (full of recycable trash) literaly get thrown away with all the other garbage,

I more than usual hope this film BOMBS !!!!!
I won't be anywhere near this POS.

Ok I want to see how they justify a civilization from another planet coming to earth to tell us that if we don't change our ways it will destroy the earth, while threatening to destroy the earth.

    Isn't that redundant?

Yeah, its redundant. We are responsible for ourselves. Nobody is going to come in and save us from our own mistakes. Maybe the movie is trying to get at that too. I thought Klaatu was a robot in the old one even though I'm definitely someone of a younger generation who hasn't seen the original. I'm tempted now to rent the original. Klaatu looks way too humanoid for my taste. All I remember in popular footage from the original The Day the Earth Stood Still is the robot sending a death ray of destruction or something that sent humans running.

Gort was the robot. You're right tho, Keanu is also a robot.
