Film School Rejects: Mickey Rourke and Walter Hill: Together Again

    This is a VERY intriguing premise I think. Let's be honest, Rourke is not bound to be playing pretty boys with the grill of an ex-boxer / plastic surgery, any more. So these are the sorts of daring and challenging roles a guy in his 50's is going to thrive in, I think. I absolutely loved him in The Wrestler, and with his recent BAFTA speech which can be seen here:

    Rourke has always been - on his day - an astonishing actor. Now with 15 years of wilderness under his belt he has picked up an added gravitas that should bring us - as proved in The Wrestler - some huge performances. I hope he spreads his canvas as wide as possible. This collaboration with Hill should be fantastic.

    Yes - Hes invented a new style of acting - just as Brando did. Rourke is inspirational. Hes brought "the movies" back
