Film School Rejects: Matrix Producer to Tell the Story of Muhammad

  • hainki · 2 weeks ago
Prophet mohammed married Aisha because it was custom back then, also he had to marry his adapted son wife because Allah had commanded him to do so. Read the Koran Hainki
Also in war, if you want to kill our prophet, he has to protect himself and therefore he allowed killing of the jewish tribe, this is total sef-defense. The women poet, mohammed did not kill but his followers, its not mohammed fault. So stop hating and read the Holy Koran and dont take out of context please.

So how authentic is this movie going to be? Is it going to be nothing but a puff piece that portrays Muhammad as he is in the Quran? Or is it going to show the reality of how he founded a religion based upon the Moon God of Arabia to bring his people together, then later on in life he turns to killing anyone who disagrees with Islam.

Maybe it will make us all feel better knowing that Muhammad did not kill so many people - that perhaps he was indeed a peace loving Prophet... Is this the muddied image that we need to clear up about Islam.

To clear things further should we respect Islam over human rights - say ignore the fact that Muhammad called for stoning - where Jesus called for people to look at themselves first.

To clear things up - why don't we introduce some of Islam's punishments and impose some of its restrictions on the whole society.

All I am saying that it is okay to be politically correct - but what are saying.

Here is what I think would be good for western society - with Islam - we place respect for the followers of Islam above their religious beliefs.

What should be good for society - is that it understands - that in the Islamic world Muslims are given priority in the law - in accordance with Sharia. [That's why there are very few churches - never mind building churches - Christians need special permission from the state just to repair them - and moderate Indonesia.. they burnt down like 300 churches.. hey you probably don't go to church... in Egypt they issued a legally binding fatwa that says building churches is like building barns for dogs, cats and pigs..this fatwa was repeated at the Cairo University after Obama's speech] The best part Muslim society wants westerners - to join with them to do the same to others...

Humor me - Google these words:

    Dar Al-Islam
    Dar Al-Harb
    Jizya tax

Likely the producer will get no help with Islam's pre-Islamic history

    Google
    Allat
    Manat
    al-Uzza

or look them up here - including 'Allah'

This isn't a good idea. 1. You're not going to show the guy you're making a movie about? 2. There have been many instances of people producing media about Islam that have either been actually killed, or threatened with death. 3. I doubt it will be a historical portrayal. It will probably be fluff. Good for the makers, so they're not attacked, but as someone who has bothered to read up on Islam, rather than just watching news specials, there are some definite things they won't put in the movie for fear of attack.

I'm sure many people have heard the whole "virgins" in Heaven thing can be interpreated several ways, some of them not meaning "virgin females for you to bone," but there are passages that don't reflect kindly on Muhammad.

Then again, there's plenty of shit in all the other religions of the world too. Unless it's historically accurate or about Gods fighting Werewolves, I'm not too interested in some religious piece.

If I'm not mistaken - and I frequently am, let's face it - there was a movie about Muhammed already released. One of my family members took a Comparative Religions class and saw it. From what she told me, the movie never showed the guy's face. Man, I'd hate to be the guy who got THAT role.

"We want you to be in this huge religious epic! It's going to do wonders for your career!"
"Cool! Sign me up!" *signs contract*
"By the way, since none of us want to get blown up, we can't actually show your face in the movie. At all."
    *actor fires agent immediately*

I know this is probably going to fall on deaf ears, but omments here an stay is there any chance the comments can stay on the topic of "how we think this movie will turn out and our thoughts on how they intend to pull off not showing the titular character" and get as far as possible from the topic of "this movie will be good/evil based on this religious/moral/ethical/factual issue"? Please?

Regardless of the subject matter, it takes brass buttons to never feature the person you're focused on. I suppose there's a way simply to show his affecting the lives of others, but can you imagine The Passion of the Christ without The Christ?

Regardless of how they do it the radical elements of Islam are not going to like it due to the fact that it was not produced by "true believers".
  • eternalbliss · 2 weeks ago
Cool. I hope it'll be a good movie. There's already a movie about Islam though. It's called 'The Message' and it was produced by Moustapha Akkad. It stars Anthony Quinn as Hamza (the uncle of the prophet Muhammad(saws)). Muhammad(saws) was never shown and no actor played him. He(saws) was represented by filming as through his eyes (that is, you see what he(saws) sees). That movie took 7 years to produce due to its epic proportions (there was no CG back then, 1976). It was a really well done production. The movie is widely available on the net and in video stores. With all the technology of today, it should be much easier to produce a move like it ^^

Btw, Allah(swt) is not a moon god. Allah(swt) is the Lord of the worlds, he has 99 other names in Islam. Allah(swt) is defined in surat Al-Ikhlas as:
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Say: He is Allah the One and Only; (1) Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; (2) He begetteth not, nor is He begotten; (3) And there is none like unto Him. (4)

A more in depth definition of Allah in surat Al-Baqara:
Allah! There is no God save Him, the Alive, the Eternal. Neither slumber nor sleep overtaketh Him. Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that intercedeth with Him save by His leave? He knoweth that which is in front of them and that which is behind them, while they encompass nothing of His knowledge save what He will. His throne includeth the heavens and the earth, and He is never weary of preserving them. He is the Sublime, the Tremendous. (255)

Another thing, Jesus(as) is mentioned in the Qur'an 500% more times than Muhammad(saws), and Mary the mother of Jesus(as) has a surat named after her, and she is mentioned almost 100% more times than in the bible, and is the only woman mentioned in the Qur'an by name.

Also, remember that you cannot simply claim to know the 'historical' portrayal. Keep in mind that there are many conflicting accounts. Besides, the Islamic sources (Qur'an and recorded traditions of the prophet) are the most authentic source of historical evidence because the way they were gathered was extensively meticulous and following a scientific process for verification. Furthermore, since Prophet Muhammad(saws) is the example of Muslims, his every move is essential to Islam.

If you would like to know more about Islam, read the Qur'an (http://www.quranexplorer.com/Quran/Default.aspx). Peace ^^

"Also, remember that you cannot simply claim to know the 'historical' portrayal. Keep in mind that there are many conflicting accounts."

That is the problem, you are getting your information from one source and I am getting mine from other sources.

let see how they deal with mohammed sex life first:

married aisha when she was 6 years old and had her at the age of 8 years and 9months when mohammed was 57 years young

married his own adapted son's wife, we call this incest today

slaughtered the Jewish Tribe killing all men and boys who had any pubic hair, and taking women and children as slaves

killing the women poet, mohammed followers ripping the women body apart while still breast beeding her baby.

There is actually a disney cartoon that was straight to DVD about muhhamed, and in the same way were not allowed to show his face or any likeness, the whole story was shown from a first person POV, so it was kinda cool, it definitely was a romanticized view of the man. also in response to cole, there is a Passion of the Christ movie without Christ, its called The Cross, same thing first person POV.
