The plot of Match Point is very similar to the plot of "A Place in the Sun" with Montgomery Clift and Elizabeth Taylor. About 30 minutes into Match Point I got the connection to the earlier film and knew right away how Match Point would end up -- then it was only a matter of waiting for the inevitable.
A flaw for me was that the detectives apparently found no mention of Nola's pregnancy in her diary. Didn't she write that in there? And if not, why on Earth not?
