Film School Rejects: Marvel Journeys to ‘Narnia’ to Capture Writers for ‘Captain America’

Excited for the Avengers film? HELLL YEA!!!

Umm guys in Marvel...What about Thor? Where's the update on that one? No actor or director or writer attached to it yet. Well, (ahem) there was but I don't see much progress on him.

I still have to say that the Thor movie will be Marvel's first big bomb since their resurgence... but Captain America will be a close second. Neither character will work on-screen for today's audiences.

I've worked with Stephen and Chris and they have a great sense of what makes a script fun. Joe Johnston is a decent choice for director especially after Hildalgo but I hope his heart is in it.

Both those NARNIA movies sucked dangling male anatomy. Joe Johnston is a skilled director, but so far has not been served well by his scripts. I see the makings of a disaster.

I'm just happy this is actually happening. Now if Marvel could only wrestle the potential big-timers away from Fox and Sony...

i disagree with you Rob Hunter. Im still on the fence with Thor, but Captain America looks like a sure fire hit. Audiences lately are very easily pleased, just throw tons of action and CGI at them and they will leave all smiles. Storyline falls into 2nd or 3rd place when it comes to blockbusters. Why do you think transformers did so well? absolute zero storyline but entertaining CGI action made it a guilty pleasure. Sure, neither Thor nor Captain America may turn out as good as Iron Man, but Marvel will be looking to cash in on the demographic who simply want to be entertained for 2 hours.
