Film School Rejects: Marvel’s Dr. Strange One Step Closer to the Big Screen

Okay, so you said "Dr. Strange," and I said, "Feh." Probably the one Marvel character whose comics I have never, ever read. Because I always thought he was dumb. I mean, he uses magic for cryin' out loud. Who the hell wants to see that? How does that make any sense?

Then, I thought you had me at Neil Gaiman. Then I thought you had me at Guillermo Del Toro. Then you said Hugh Lorrie.

Now I'm very confused. I WANT MY DR. STRANGE MOVIE, DAMMIT! WHERE'S MY NEIL GAIMAN-WRITTEN, DEL-TORO-DIRECTED, HUGH LORRIE-STARRING DR. STRANGE MOVIE! GIVE... ME... GENESIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What. The .F##k. Dr Strange is a great Marvel character. I fell in love with Steve Ditkos trippy illustrations. Ok the beginning stories weren't really strong, but I think a Dr Strange movie would be great! A washed-out Dr going to extreme lengths to regain he his surgical abilities and instead finds magical ones! I for one would love to see a Dr Strange movie and with a Gaiman/de Torro/Laurie combination, it could be one of the greatest comic book movies ever.

Hugh Laurie? eeeeeeehhhhhhh maybe. But I do want to see the Gaiman/del Toro team on this. It is a complete different universe and it has the Hellboy 'flair' to it. It would be cool if they could add Ghost Rider as part of it. I would like to see that being tackled w/ another actor not Nicholas Cage (no offense dude the movie did flopped).

In Ghost Rider, cage wasn't the only problem, the script was pretty lame and the support cast, especially the leading "lady" were terrible.

If they make it, I would want to see Keifer Sutherland play Strange. Not a big fan of the comic, but they could make a cool horror/fantasy film.

Del Toro would be ideal, but I'd also look at David Fincher.
