    Actually I think Cloverfield revolutionized viral marketing more and was very participatory. There were legions of internet people picking apart every little viral video and photo, plus the Slusho! contest and numerous fake blog entries. The film was steeped in so much mystery that the viral marketing campaign was the biggest reason it had such a great opening in January.
