Twilight Saga: New Moon Sets Records, Hauls in $140 million
What Hollywood is trying to tell us is that a giant, green CGI monster, a man with spider powers, a guy in a metal suit and a dude dressed up like a flying rodent are all easier to convey onscreen than a non-powered Special Forces soldier with a buttload of guns exacting vengeance on the people who killed his family.
You mean to tell me in the age of the blockbuster NO ONE has the ability in Hollywood to take that and make an awesome Punisher movie? Y'know, one not filmed on the "mean streets" of Tampa?
Hell, Charles Bronson is the reason there is a Punisher, and "DeathWish" was made for bus fare!
And, hey! Neil! Check this out. You may not like it, but it's straight from Frank Castle's mouth.

The jury is still out.
Not sure what to think of this movie. Didn't this whole genre get done to death in the 80s?
Castle's a methodical and strategic killer. But a hardcore, grenade-launchin' killer he remains.
Too flashy? Yes. The spinning chandelier scene has NO business in the Frank Castle repertoire.
Personally, I LOVE the heavy-handed line "Sometimes, I'd like to get my hands on God." Over the top, but True Castle nevertheless. Hated Benz's line "Who punishes yoouuu?"
I have no problem with no dialogue, but where's the constant inner narrative??? That's mostly where all the dark humor comes from. "Mobs are trying to make peace. Good luck. Grapevine says that Carbo called the meet to kill everyone and grab the last few scraps for himself. We live in troubled times. Wasn't hard to start the rumor."
Castle!
Peace
It may drive us true Castle fans crazy to hear Jane's name mentioned in the same breath as the most dangerous man to ever walk the earth but it's those folks' right to express their opinion.
Even if that opinion is very, very wrong on soooo many levels.
So it's our duty, as true Punisher fans, to EDUCATE those people. And luckily, as it would seem to us, it should be relatively easy:
READ MORE ISSUES.
You'll find NO alcohol, NO pitiful sarcasm "Upset? Is that the word? I used to get upset when I...bla-bla-bla", NO bow'n'arrows, NO wasting ammunition to blow up cars in the shape of a skull and NO punk in his right mind to advance menacingly on Frank Castle with a switchbalde, like Mystique's bad boyfriend.
Punisher SCARES people! That punk didn't look too scared to me. So where's Jane credibility in the role?
Peace
There was just ONE "Commando". Many rip-offs, but only ONE "Commando".
I'd LOVE to see another.
