Film School Rejects: Let Cary Grant Teach You How ‘To Catch a Thief’

This is one of my favorite Hitchcock movies, right up there with Notorious and Strangers on a Train. It is, sadly, the only one I own (I need to rectify that!). Cary Grant is probably my favorite actor and Grace Kelly is so beautiful it is hard to look away. Thanks for the stellar review. I may have to rewatch this in the coming weeks.

Personally, I was really into the movie until right before the ending (unlike the wonderful Notorious, which was magnificent from beginning to end). I was disappointed enough with the reveal of The Cat that it became one of my least favorite of the half-dozen Hitchcock films that I've seen so far. Although, I must say that your review reminded me of how much I enjoyed it up until that point, so I think I'll have to re-watch it sometime and see how I feel about it after having already seen it and knowing how the plot plays out (same with Spellbound). Good job on the review, though. Maybe enough time has passed that you can do another Hitchcock film, like, say, Notorious... :)
