Film School Rejects: Kevin Carr’s Weekly Report Card for 04.17.09

As you'll be able to tell from my review of State of Play, I wasn't a fan. I won't argue with you on any story points, because I'm automatically right, but I will disagree that political junkies will like the movie. I think anyone with even a decent understanding about how things work in DC will be confused by how the movie presents the inner-workings since they aren't really all that accurate.

But it's a movie. Aren't they always accurate?

I think all of the movies you review here, sucked, am I right about that because I didn't love any of them cause none of them make any sense and are boring to me to see but I didn't see them until someone forces me to see it.

I cared Matthew Perry was in it. I wanted to see it because of him.

Here's why I thought "State" missed a great chance at something more.

17 again was a lot of fun to watch despite the awkward moments; reminded me of Freaky Friday

    What a boring week.

"it was Thomas Lennon as the consummate fanboy that really stole the show."

And believe me, was the reason I enjoyed it. This movie was part of my about-to-be 11yo daughter's birthday present, and you guessed it - she wanted to see Zac Efron, who just HAD to prove he can dance. But Lennon's character had the new 60-dollar light sabers, so I still got to geek out. Cool!
